Get ready to see some beastly power coming to the Pokemon TCG!
The first day of Worlds 2017 started yesterday and there were plenty of big news! One of those pieces of news was the reveal of the Ultra Beast invasion coming to the Pokemon TCG!
Buzzwole GX and Guzzlord GX were both reveal to be part of the Crimson Invasion TCG expansion. These GX Pokemon are much different compare to previous GX Pokemon due to their red coloration. This red coloration can be seen in the GX symbol and GX Attack on the card. These Ultra Beast GX Pokemon are big Basic Pokemon that have powerful attacks. They also have “Ultra Beast” as the classification for the card that can be seen under the HP. Lastly, the GX attacks for the Ultra Beasts look as if they involve the prizes.
Buzzwole GX is a 190 HP Pokemon that can attack quickly thanks to Jet Punch. It can hit the active but also one of your opponent’s benched Pokemon. This will surely put the pressure on Basic Pokemon that need to evolve. Players will need to work fast if they want to try to evolve their 60 HP Basics. If three energy can be placed on Buzzwole GX at the start of the game then it can hit for 240 on any active Pokemon with Absorption GX. That is a knockout against most Pokemon.
Meanwhile, Guzzlord GX has a massive 210 HP for a Basic Pokemon. It needs a heavy energy investment to use Tyrannical Hole but once you do then you can hit your opponent for 180 with no drawback. That is pretty scary as that will either knockout your opponent’s Pokemon or put them close to one. If your opponent is in the range of having their Pokemon knockout then that will be perfect for Guzzlord GX. That is because if Glutton GX knockouts a Pokemon then that player can take two extra prizes.
Lastly, Nihilego GX was revealed in Japan. This card can spread status conditions simply by being placed on the bench. It can also be used to extended the game by using Parasite GX. This GX attack limits your opponent’s resources by putting two cards from their deck into their Prizes.
These GX Pokemon can be dangerous in the game as both of them can provide a massive assault on the TCG metagame. You can see these cards be release in Crimson Invasion on November 4th.
