So it really depends on which part of the state you're in. If you're in the Charleston Myrtle Beach coast side of the state, the roads are in pretty good shape because historically they've always gotten more money to refurbish their roads. Which makes sense due to their tourist industry. But as a result places like the upstate get almost no money for their roads leaving up with potholes every couple feet on most roads. I was driving from Greenville to Easley the other day and the road was so bumpy at one point that the entire car was shaking.

Yeah, I have some roads around here that are so bad that patching isn't going to work anymore. They would need to do the entire road over. Your only choice is to go slow because it's going to be a bumpy ride for sure.

I feel like my next vehicle should be an off-road one just for this reason. But really, it feels like the state has gotten lazier about fixing these things.

They choose the most awful times to actually work on the roads too. Mostly during peak traffic....and it's not even given much of a heads up notice either. Mostly just a few hundred feet ahead or just before with small cones. Not much really to go by.

I mean the road work they did here to extend the road was in PLANNING since I was a baby. Like early 92 or so. It didn't start until about 2015? It ended late 2017. So umm....yeah they need to work out better strategies and planning for all this.

Roads usually get fixed pretty quick where I am. We always get pot holes in the main street in winter.

DC is an awesome place. I've been there so many time -It helps my grandparents live there- Hope you have time to go around and enjoy the sights. The cherry blossoms probably aren't in bloom anymore but there's still a lot to see.

I've been there once a long time ago. Pretty neat place and lots of interesting scenery from what I remember. But yeah, I think that was like 30 years ago.
