What about mosquitoes?
Believe it or not, mosquitoes are very important and have their place on this planet just as much as anything else. They're pollinators (females only drink blood because they need the protein for their eggs), and there are several plants that depend primarily or even exclusively on them to propagate. Not to mention the many animals that eat them. Yes, it's a bummer that mosquitoes are such a magnet for diseases and as a result are the deadliest animal to humans on the planet, but nature isn't nice.
Sure, why not?
Yes. They have the big shiny eyes that everyone always finds cute in everything else. Too tiny to cuddle, tho.
I'll stick with Shaymin thanks
...I'd like mosquitos more if they and ticks weren't consistently attracted to my blood in particular.

There are no mosquitoes in Heaven.
I don't know why mosquito bites have to be itchy. If they weren't you wouldn't even notice them and most people wouldn't even care about being bitten (if they weren't in a disease area). Therefore you'd think nature would favour mosquitos whose bites weren't as itchy as they would be able to feed more easily (people wouldn't bother with protective measures).
Perhaps the itchiness evolved in US so that we DO know that we've been bitten as many diseases are transmitted by them, and it's important to know ASAP if you're bitten to try and prevent infection.
Pretty interesting!
