A new pikachu themed Snapchat filter is available!

To tie in with the Pikachu Outbreakchu event, special features have been added to Snapchat for a few days. These are face camera features which will have you appear as a Pikachu and have a Pikachu come on screen with electricity. This will run for the next 3 days, but could be extended without warning

We were promised flying cars and hoverboards by now, but instead, we have this. XD Why they're only making it temporary just seems daft, though.

Having looked into the process of doing a snapchat filter, it is actually extremely expensive to do something like this. Businesses must purchase the right to use copyrighted images and there is no option for a permanent filter. Only snapchat is allowed to make permanent filters. All other filters must be temporary and the longer it is out the more money it costs. While I doubt money is much of an object for Nintendo, this would explain why it is not permanent.
