Bandit Ring to be Japan’s Next TCG Set

Bandit Ring
Japan’s next TCG set has been announced to be called Bandit Ring and it will feature Hoopa. This set will be comprised of 97 cards. It is interesting to note that Bandit Ring will come out a month before the next Pokemon movie The Archdjinn of Rings – Hoopa which will also feature Hoopa.

There has been no word on which other Pokemon will be included in the new set. Judging by the teaser booster pack images, we can guess that it will include Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza. This is rather curious as these three Pokemon cards have been recently released in the sets prior to Bandit Ring. Though, it would be a nice way to end the OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire block of the TCG. These booster pack images are placeholders for now and will not be used for the official release. Clearly Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza on booster packs are there to help promote the upcoming movie which does features them. Lastly, Hoopa Unbound has not been revealed which will most likely make an appearance in this set and would look great on a booster. Also a nice little surprise.

Also announced was a new mini-set for Japan. This mini-set is called Legendary Holo Concept Pack. The Legendary Holo Concept Pack will be similar to past mini-sets such as The Shiny Collection and Dragon Vault. It will feature 27 cards. Not much is known about the mini-set except that it will feature Pokemon from the The Archdjinn of Rings – Hoopa film. The teaser image for the booster packs include: Latios, Latias, Dialga, Regigigas, Arceus, Reshiram, Black Kyurem, Hoopa, and Pikachu. It is unknown if these will be reprints or all new cards. All the Legendary Pokemon will be holographic. This set sounds like a must-have for collectors.

Lastly, there will be an “Emboar-EX vs. Togekiss-EX” half decks release in Japan. It will come with two 30 card decks. It is unknown what will be in the half decks. Based on the name, it sounds like we could see EX versions of both Emboar and Togekiss. Though the image for the product shows Emboar with the Inferno Fandango ability which is currently in format. This deck comes with a deck box and sleeves. It is unknown which Pokemon will be on the deck box and sleeves.

Bandit Ring will be release in Japan on June 20th. Legendary Holo Concept Pack and “Emboar EX and Togekiss EX” half decks will be released on the same day as the Hoopa film on July 18th. No word on when or how these products will be released in the United States.
