Battle Styles
Find your Battle Style! In the next TCG set!

The newest TCG set coming to the United States, Battle Styles, is coming March 19th, 2021. This set will feature both forms of Urshifu as Pokemon V Cards. Meanwhile, a brand new battle mechanic is coming to the Pokemon TCG based on Urshifu called Battle Styles.

There will be two Battle Styles for players to master. You can use the Single Strike style that have red accents on the card which promises to knockout a Pokemon with a single powerful attack. Meanwhile, the blue accent cards will become masters of the Rapid Strike style that boost clever, technical attacks to knockout several Pokemon quickly.

You can learn more about this new mechanic by clicking here.

Below are the details for Battle Styles.

  • 60 Battle Style cards
  • 12 Pokémon V and 16 full-art Pokémon V
  • Six Pokémon VMAX
  • 19 Trainer cards and six full-art Supporter cards
  • Two Special Energy cards

Below are some card images from Battle Styles featuring the new Battle Styles card.

Single Strike Pokemon want to do plenty of damage with a single attack. This can clearly be seen with Single Strike Urshifu VMAX who has the powerful G-Max One Blow attack. This attack can deal 270 damage to a single Pokemon. That is strong enough to knockout most Tag Team Pokemon!

There are also Rapid Strike Pokemon that will implement several different strategies to take knockouts. This could be turning off abilities as seen with Empoleon V or status effects via Meinshao. If you look at Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX then you can see that this card wants to spread damage. It can do 120 damage to two of your opponent’s bench Pokemon with G-Max Rapid Flow. That is enough damage for another Pokemon to come along and do the finishing attack.

Which style will you master? You have until March 19th, 2021 to decide. Stand up and strike with Battle Styles!
