Basic answer but, the anime. Aired on cartoon Network with good ol’ gen 1, then went up to around gen 5 when I stopped watching, and started playing the games instead

I believe it was Ruby at my cousins house 15 or 16 years ago at this point. Didn’t play it that much but I think that was the very first time I played a Pokémon game.
