Fathers Day has come and gone. Dads are pretty amazing and they can teach you some great things. Lets take a moment to look at some fantastic fan art of some of Pokemon’s most famous dads.
The first piece of art we are featuring is the one above which was made by Antares25. This piece was created in anticipation of Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. Norman is an interesting dad because depending on the canon he is a great dad or a horrible dad. Those who read the Pokemon Adventures manga may be familiar with how great of a father he is in there but if you are talking about Norman from the video game then that is much different. The bets way to describe video game Norman is to say that he is a much better father then his manga counterpart.
Here we have Norman in a picture with his kid (depending on the gender of your character). It was a great way to get hype for Pokemon ORAS.
Our next piece of daddy fan art comes from Patrick-Theater which features Giovanni and Silver.
Pokemon doesn’t have the best dads and Giovanni is one of those neglectful fathers. Fans use to speculate for years after Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen about the relationship between Giovanni and your rival from Pokemon Gold and Silver. Thanks to Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver and the Celebi event we were able to see what lead to Silver’s drive to topple Team Rocket. The relationship between this father and son isn’t a good one but we can see that Giovanni was a selfish man that pushed his son away. It is a sad tale.
Lets talk about a happier father and son who may have been forgotten by Pokemon fans. This piece was created by denkimouse.
Many Pokemon fans may have forgotten that Roark and Byron are actually related. The two act so different from each other even though they pretty much do the same thing. I bet the this father and son get quite silly when they are together. Here is a comic featuring a silly moment between Roark and Byron that may have taken a weird turn that nobody wanted to bring up.
Lastly we have a father who may have been forgotten. This piece features Professor Birch and was drawn by BoGilliam.
Professor Birch is often remembered as the professor who gets chased by small Pokemon and his wife but often it seems that fans forget that he is a father. Birch could be the best father in the Pokemon series as he is always working close to his home and often enjoys dinner with his family. He works closely with his child at the lab and supports them. He is friendly to kids as well. What more could you ask from a father?
