Internet Memes: Your Favorites/Least Favorites

You know what memes are, and if you don't, you definitely need to internet more. So which ones do you find genuinely funny, and which ones makes you cringe?

I always liked All Your Base, even though it's very old, it's gold and it's a classic. Moon moon and Nyan Cat are also enjoyable.

Doge is a weird one for me. Some days, I think it's funny, and others, it seems like the stupidest thing ever. I can't even begin to explain why.

i love so many memes its hard to pick just one, but ive been enjoying dat boi as a more recent one, man door hand hook car door is a modern classic and a fave, loss.jpg always gets me even though its stupid... i think rage comics in general are making a comeback as well but the format is being used ironically now which i can appreciate

really though, i fancy myself a meme aficionado, how could i possibly pick between my children like this

I find most memes annoying. When they become popular they suddenly cause a spate of awful imitations. Take Pepe for example, it was funny at first but 12 year olds seem to love dragging it out. My boyfriend's really into meme Facebook pages so I normally end up seeing them like 2 months before they actually get popular, and at that point they're already boring :|

This page is absolutely hilarious if you have a basic understanding of left wing politics. Doge is always gonna have a place in my heart because it made people post more pictures of their shiba inus, even though it's not funny at all!

The one I hate more than anything, though, is that damn "Darude - Sandstorm" thing, which I've expressed already in the pet peeves thread. If I had the means, I would hunt down every person who says it on YouTube, throw them into a dark room, and blast that song all day long. It'll be ironic torture. That's how much I hate it. It's never been funny. It'll never be funny. Now shut the hell up so someone who actually knows the title of the song can tell me because I wanna know.

Not sure what my favorite is, but I do enjoy that All Your Base thing, too. In tenth grade, I had a teacher who referenced it on the board once. He was awesome.

I love the "WITH A GUN" and "... gun" memes. The new Spongebob memes are pretty fun. "X? In my Y? It's more likely when you think" is also usually good for a laugh. I also love a good "do a barrel roll", "arrow to the knee", and "snake people, or 'sneeple'" meme so long as they're played off well. There's probably more that I'm forgetting. I like a lot of memes.

As for memes I hate... Most Rage Comic Faces fall into this category, but I accept them if they're used ironically. "I can't even" is pretty much universally grating.

I don't understand the doge and "Damn Daniel" memes. They're just so dumb.

For some reason the new "here come dat boi" meme gets me everytime. I also enjoy the Darude - Sandstorm meme because it's a catchy song. :D ALSO RICK ROLL

My favorite is probably "Squirtle, I'm dying" just because of its delightfully limited utility.

I did recently find out that there is a meme around Cory in the House, which obviously delights me as I have been a fan of the show for the last couple of years.

I don't have a favorite meme because memes haven't ever really been my thing. Nevertheless, I can say this, the memes on Tumblr were usually the best. Instagram's are okay, but when I start up instagram, I blink and only twenty minutes has gone by, whereas with Tumblr, two hours would go by.

Currently on Instagram the big memes that seem to be circling are "Have you ever noticed that an anime character's head is the same shape of the instagram heart? Don't believe me? Double tap." memes, but then it's usually not even an anime character. The reason for that is instagram usually does like a meme and then a meme backlash, in which a meme circles around for a bit and a bunch of people post those memes and then after about a month or two a bunch of people post memes making fun of the original memes. Currently we are in a meme backlash for the anime instagram heart meme.
