Pokémon Go “Primed” for Late July Release

Whilst the new Zelda game has taken up most of the spotlight at Nintendo’s E3 presentations, Pokémon hasn’t been left behind, with the first official gameplay*of Pokémon Sun and Moon being shown off during some time with Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori from GameFreak, as well as some other new Pokémon.
But lest we forget, Pokémon have another major release in the works. Pokémon has plans to break into the growing*mobile market with Pokémon Go, and after months of hush-hush and rumor mongering, we finally have something to go on, and some of it might surprise us.
First, Pokémon Go Plus, the previously announced add-on for Pokémon Go, will connect to your smartphone*and tells you if there’s a Pokémon around by flashing Green. The Plus device makes it so you can watch for Pokémon without having to pull out your phone and focus on your surroundings.
The Plus device will flash green when a Pokémon is nearby, will osculate to decide if a Pokémon is caught*and flash with rainbow colors if you are successful. Meanwhile, if you are not successful in catching the Pokemon then The Plus device will flash red. It is primed for a late July release and will cost $34.99.
The game itself focuses on catching Pokémon, and you earn more experience for using different techniques, such as a curve ball.
Generation One Pokémon will be the first available in the game to celebrate the 20th anniversary though more Pokémon will eventually be added. Evolution will be handled*differently to the main games, as when you get a new Pokémon, you will receive candies. If you use these candies then you can evolve the Pokémon. For example, using 25 Squirtle candies will evolve it into Wartortle.
As with the Plus add on, the game itself will be primed for release, but only tentatively, in July.

Ouch, I didn't think it would cost $35, but eh, I think it's worth it. Should be interesting to see how this whole thing works. :3

If it costs $35 to buy the app, there'd better not be any in-app purchases. After all, I'd MUCH rather pay a fixed price for a full game and be expected to earn things in-game by IN-GAME MEANS than to have freemium crap where they rob your pockets bit by bit in which you lose track of HOW MUCH YOU'VE SPENT.

Candies? Huh, I thought they were called evolution stone shards or something. Weird. This is the most unstable game development I've ever seen come from the Pokemon franchise. xD It's going to be this! Wait, no, it's this! Like I totally get they're excited but I think they may have gotten a little too ahead of themselves.

But anyway, late July? That's AWESOME! 8D Also glad to see they WILL release later-gen Pokemon. I mean I didn't think they wouldn't, but I kinda had my doubts too

I think the app was free (with in-game purchases). The $35 is for the additional Plus Pokeball marker thing that rumbles when you're near a Pokemon/let's you catch it, so you don't have to be checking your phone all the time.

I'm looking forward to this but I wish they would just let you buy the actual game for $35 and not have to worry about in-game purchases. ~_~

BRUH I was hoping they'd release it either before I went to Italy or while I was still there. I'm not sure I'll still be in Italy when they release the app.

Ohh...geez, 35 extra bucks JUST for a stupid Pokewalker-esque device. Whoohoo. Why not just make your PHONE vibrate when a Pokemon is nearby? That sounds like a 150% better idea! I hope that's the case.

Yeah: I liked Pokemon Picross because you could basically just buy unlimited picrites for 30-something bucks, which is equivalent to buying the full game. Stuff like this I am 100% cool with: I'm more than willing to dish out money to something I enjoy. So long as it's one flat sale.

I just hope that buying in-game things with real money ONLY adds convenience and isn't a requirement. And even if it is the former, it had better not be to a ridiculous extent. For instance, I don't want to have to wait an hour to get one Pokeball and only be able to have 2 at a time in my inventory or something. God. That's just. So. Stupid. Part of me wants to think they won't do this, but...I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I've seen what they tried to do before.

Of course I think it's funny that Rumble World was such a bust that they just said "**** it" and released the entire game for one flat price later on. Like, what's even the point?

I was already pretty pessimistic towards Go, but now I'm just completely turned off and really have no intention of getting it. The more they revealed, the less I liked it. It's just so far away from what I imagined an ideal version to be. And $35 is seriously ridiculous for some dang bracelet. That's the cost of a main line game!!! I would never pay more than $10 for a side game like Picross, Rumble, and definitely not Go. Totally not worth it. Really disappointed with Go, which is pretty sad, as I had high hopes in the beginning. :'/
