Now that's just plain stupid. It's your civic duty to vote after all. You're throwing it in the faces of those who have protected your right to vote by saying that you don't want to. You think I like the candidates? No. But I've sucked it up and voted anyway. If you think it's okay to any degree to not vote then you don't deserve to have the right to vote at all. It's not fair to the people who give their lives to protect that right for you to just say "eh I don't like them" and not vote. For the love of God you don't have to vote for the main two. Vote third party for all I care. But not voting is just plain stupid. And if you don't vote then you have zero right to complain about anything in the coming years because you didn't do anything to stop it.

Having the right to vote doesn't mean you HAVE to vote. That's like saying having the freedom of speech means you HAVE to talk and having freedom of the press means you HAVE to publish/broadcast something. If you helps you feel better, pretend I selected the "Neither" option and we'll leave it at that. Also, that does not mean I disrespect those that gave us the right to vote. I don't know where you came up with that conclusion. It's a privilege, yes, but not a mandatory obligation.

Why don't I vote? Because I fully reject both of these candidates and recognize the flawed system that doesn't allow for a third party candidate to have adequate representation. By voting for them, you are in part responsible for them and everything they do. Like I said, when candidates of better integrity, honesty, and credibility come forward, I will back them and support them. Also, I have the right to question and openly criticize the flawed system that fosters and enforces a two-party system where voting for anything besides Republican or Democrat is realistically throwing a vote away and just wastes time and effort. If it were an option, I would select "no, rerun the election with alternative candidates" and that's what I would go with.

As for complaining about what goes on in the upcoming years, I don't lose that right to question and point blame at any wrongdoings the next presidential candidate does. Anyone and everyone should have the ability to call out a flawed leader if they feel they have done something wrong, regardless of whether or not they voted in the election.
