Haha yeah, it's not that bad at all. Though I have come across a ridiculous number of spiders in the last 10 minutes, probably cos its really hot so they try and find shelter. First I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and almost stepped on a daddy long legs spider. I tried to pick it up with a coat hanger but it refused so I just pushed it away somewhere. Then there is a daddy long legs that's been living on the wall above my bed. I thought it was probably dead since it hasn't seemed to move for weeks... But I was going to bed just now and I noticed it had just hatched like 20 baby spiders! xD I might have left them if they weren't right above my bed... So I brushed them all into a container and chucked them outside. (I couldn't kill those poor babies on Christmas!) Then as I was closing my blinds I saw another daddy long legs under my window. But I was too lazy to do anything about that one xD

I'm sure the rumors about all the crazy wildlife are exaggerated. Kind of like how the world thinks the US has everyone waltzing around with guns everywhere. You really only see them in very specific places.

I agree with that bolded part.

No, they're all true. You NEED to be prepared when you come here. Just like how all the gun rumours are true for the US.

For some reason I read that as "I saw another daddy long legs under my pillow" and I was like "...huh?" xD

OH MY GOD TWENTY BABIES. So cute. I pick up daddy long legs since they can't hurt. I just pinch a leg or two and take them outside. I see them aallllll the time and since I've picked them up so many times, I don't have any sort of aversion to them. They're harmless, like moths, I guess. I don't like killing moths. The only things I'll kill are mozzies (LITTLE MONSTERS) and flies (only sometimes). I usually take everything else outside, even cockroaches. xD They're kinda cute when you look past the slime.

We actually have plenty of spiders around here also. My brother had a big problem with them at his old house. Spiders are just everywhere. I guess one optimistic way of looking at it is hospitals in Australia are probably more equipped to deal with all of the wildlife situations, although it would still be dumb to poke a snake with a stick or anything like that.

As for guns in the US, I guess it varies from state to state. I know in Texas they tend to be more about guns than in sleepy New Jersey.

Texas and Alabama are probably the ones with the biggest activity of guns. South Georgia is pretty gun happy, dem swemp peeps.

Well, with alligators crawling around all over the place, I can't really blame them. I sure wouldn't try to take one on with my bare hands, but with my Mossberg 590 and a few 12-gauge deer slugs... I'd feel a LOT more comfortable.

I could stand to learn a little more about handguns and shotguns myself soon. Especially for if things get bad sometime in the next few years or not. Who knows how things are gonna end up. Yeah down here in Georgia, there's a lot of people crazy for all things guns and hunting in general. So it's a bit odd when someone not from around here thinks everything in the south deals with it and is the same....when it's really not xD. It's mainly only certain areas.

    The time is upon us...

I hear guns all the time here in Columbus. Somebody got shot this morning around 4am, don't know who but it sounded close af. I like using bows, not guns. Haven't been much up North, except Atlanta/Conyers/Helen/Loganville etc etc, though i am usually too oblivious to notice any.

I am sure everywhere in the US there is an idiot with a gun waiting to hunt the rare people.

*is guilty about loving to hunt*

Having a gun just makes me feel safer. It's really like any other tool. Learn how to use it responsibly and you'll never have a problem with it. I'll admit, I was wary and nervous about them at first, but after taking some training classes, I felt a heck of a lot more comfortable with them.

Really, before anyone passes judgment on guns, at least try one first. It's very different from what movies and the media says about them.
