    I've always disliked glasses because they make me look like a nerdy twit, not to mention the fact they're easy to lose and easily get broken to bits. And beyond all the cleaning and wiping and care, they never feel comfortable or cozy to wear. When it comes to glasses there's nothing to tout, because good luck to your searching if one of the screws pops out.

    I've never lost, or broken any of my glasses. xD And I've had them since I was 17? About 9 years now. Mine are too heavy for my tiny face, though, so I'm looking to get some new frames possibly today.

    If you lose your glasses easily then you can see just fine without them. I've never lost a pair of glasses because I can only see colors without them. Mine never break because they're made of a special material that makes them more durable upon being dropped and hit with something. It's why for years I played basketball in them and never had a broken pair once. Cleaning and wiping is fairly simple if you're wearing a shirt. If they've never felt comfortable then you haven't tried enough pairs on or you haven't worn them long enough. Glasses are much like shoes, a new pair may not necessarily feel comfortable at first. You have to wear them quite a few times before you adjust and feel completely comfortable in them. I've only had my current glasses for a week and I haven't worn them as extensively as my previous pair, which were a lot thinner, so I'm not used to the shape or feel of the new ones, but I don't hate them. I'm adjusting slowly. And if you take proper care of your glasses you won't have a screw come lose.

    Speaking as a person who has had to wear them since I was seven (so 11 years now), they're not as awful as you make them out to be. Quite candidly speaking, I think I look better with glasses in some cases, and contacts with others. I absolutely hate my contacts because I get massive headaches from wearing them for more than about 12 hours. But glasses? No pain whatsoever. Sure I may have to occasionally rub my nose or ear, but I don't get awful migraines from them ever. I've only ever gotten small headaches and that's only from trying to read stuff that I didn't need my glasses for because it was so close up.

    Worst part is...most nose is sensitive. So it's tough to leave my glasses sitting on my nose all day long. I have so much trouble with my eyes it worries me for later on. It's why I'm hoping every day to hear more about some new safe procedure to correct eye sight. Or at least make it safe to be put to sleep during the procedure (or relaxed as they call it).

    I did happen to ask last time about it. The doctor told me they aren't doing "LASIK" much anymore. They're recommending the new type more so now, but it's a lot more painful. They don't cut open the flap to your lens, but they use the laser to burn through it. Which is why it hurts so much more. It makes it a lot quicker, but it hurts more, you're pit on stronger meds (narcotics I think he said), and are recommended to have at least 1 week off from work. It'll keep you bed ridden at least that long.

    I still hate my look in glasses, but can't really do much without them. I mean I can walk around, do a few things around the place, but I can't drive or see things far off. As long as it's nearby

    The problem with glasses they just don't seem to last, especially if you're playing in sports or just moving about in gym class.

    Glasses also steam up whenever you cook, but for me it's mainly a matter of not liking the way I look.

    That's what croakies and durability glasses are for. Trust me I played basketball with glasses for years before switching to contacts. It's not as awful as you're making it out to be.

    And they have special lenses for that as well. I'd rather wear my glasses cooking than contacts because the steam hurts my eyes, it dries them out and causes a burning sensation until I flush my eyes with cold water.

    If only I could get contacts in. It's the same as eye exams and eye drops for me. If anything gets super close to my eye it gets shaky and closes itself. I guess it's a part of astigmatism. I hate it ;o;
