I'm glad you're pursuing a writing career and not a medical one. :x
There's a reason I'm one of the only people in my family to not pursue a career in the sciences. And that reason is I'm bad at math. Also because I can't handle needles, blood, etc.

That's also the same reason I'll probably never be able to handle a Fallout game. They seem great and all but I've tried to watch lets plays and can't handle it. I only worked myself up to handling the bugs in my dorm this year and only because I absolutely had to. And I still can't kill them, I have to flush them or release them because the crunching squishing sound gives me the same reaction.

I can't handle blood or needles either. ;_; Apparently its super common.

I avoid anything with gore. I don't even like seeing people get hurt on those funny video shows or those crazy sports where everyone tackles each other to the ground haha!

I know its related to anxiety because I can usually tell beforehand whether I'm going to be affected by blood and stuff. It's pretty annoying. I've been trying to learn breathing techniques to help but its so hard not to slip into a panic. Surprisingly it hasn't affected being a scientist, but I luckily don't have to work with any animals! If I didn't have this phobia, I probably would have done medicine.

Something Awful is just Goonswarm. Goons are just random balls of bees.

    4Chan is systematic genocide.

I'd still pick it over Goons, especially since they kind of hate me because i was worse than them.

I'm not a fan of needles, and getting blood tests makes me feel light-headed. My eyesight gets all shrouded and I feel weirdly hot and cold at the same time. If I don't stop and sit down, I'm prone to passing out. It's happened.

I decided to donate blood for the very first time while I was at work just to take a break, and I found out I'm O+ blood type, which is universal donor. Ho boy, when they found that out, they've been sending me gazillions of emails, physical letters, and phone calls asking for me to donate some more. I really should donate more often, but yeah, I feel woozy after getting blood drawn and I would need to be extremely careful about doing it. Definitely don't want to pass out walking out the door or on the drive home after doing it.

I'll admit, some of the SA forum goons were pretty funny and had interesting insight. But there were MANY that were totally bizarre people and the amount of spam in the general chat area was just... @.@ I just got headaches and felt dumber for having read pages and pages of it.

But yeah, I've never been brave enough to venture into 4chan. From the things I've heard... it's best not to poke the proverbial beehive looking for trouble.

Yeah I'd rather write about gore than see it. And even then I've only been able to muster the ability to write gory once.

Yeah that's how I feel Neo! Lightheaded and too hot but clammy. If I don't leave the room and sit down somewhere then my vision goes all black and my hearing goes funny. I've never fully passed out though. It's such a weird feeling! That's awesome that you managed to give blood though. My friend does it regularly and I can't even stand her talking about it let alone walking into one of those places! xD I've never had a blood test before, I would definitely not be able to handle it.

Uhh I think you got it a bit mixed up there. It's O- that's the universal donor. I would know I am one because when I donated blood for the first time about a month ago they tried to sign me up for red blood cell donations, which only O- can give because they're universal donors. I couldn't do it because I didn't weigh enough but if you're a universal donor then you're O- not O+. Common mistake.

I wasn't that bad after giving blood. I was just really like out of it until the next day. It was like I was on the goofy gas they give you when you get your wisdom teeth out but not as bad. Like I mistook a blind kid for someone walking a dog and it took me a few minutes of just staring at them to realize it was a blind kid.

Yeah, I don't know if I could do it regularly like that. It's a long and exhausting process and I had a bit of trouble returning to work.

Ah, my bad, I guess I came close to being universal but just happened to miss it from that one element.

I'm a bit underweight for my height, so that probably explains it also.

@Neo Emogla well O+ is one of the most needed because it's a very common blood type and needed in most blood transfusions so that's probably why they're hounding you.

When I did it I got a free sweatshirt, gummy candies, and juice.
