My current contract position is still set to end on the 13th of June. As much as I'd LOVE for it to be extended, it doesn't seem too likely. There's no room in the budget and the main thing I was hired for is pretty much wrapping up. I've been begging to help others in hopes that I'll get involved in something on the side that will merit the extension, but it just doesn't seem to be working. The budget money's just not there.
It's a shame because this was a really great job, has a great team, and they were very supportive and understanding the whole way through. Plus when the project team lead had her birthday, we had some fun with her. The project we're working on is called Project Pixie, so what I did was dress up as a pixie (the same faerie getup I did for that Renaissance Faire) and surprise her with a birthday cake. She ADORED it and everyone loved it, giant butterfly wings and all. The photos they took are popping up everywhere around the building! I'll admit I've never done anything nearly that crazy at work before, but this worked out great. XD It would be awesome if THAT was the reason they extend me, but if it doesn't work, I'll at least have plenty of great references. :3
