About Stalkers? Oh, just try it. Really. Trust me, you DO NOT HAVE TO RP, but you can if you want to.

Also, if you go inactive, it's not a big deal. Even just searching randomly or interviewing Pokemon civilians at random still helps the rest of the crew, so it's up to you to decide how much you want to contribute.

You can even be Ho-oh if you want. Or Wigglytuff. Whoever, really. XD
