Maybe. I think it's just I'm used to running on autopilot during many aspects of my life so why would driving be any different?

This is what I keep telling my sister, who is anxious about driving. Driving would be mostly a breeze if there weren't psychopaths on the road.

I don't mind driving, but I enjoy having music to listen to. Only problem is my dad really doesn't like my taste in music. ._.

Yeah, thing is I'm not crazy about my dad's music either. It's all whiny oldies music where all the singers sound like they've been sucking on helium balloons.

So whenever we're in the car together, there's just silence for the entire ride. Only thing there is my dad has this habit where he keeps sniffling and clearing his throat over and over again. He claims it's allergies in spring/summer and a cold in autumn/winter, but he's been using that same claim for the last four years he's been doing it. On most days, I can tune it out, but there are others when it just gets to me a little more than usual. XP

My mom demands we listen to the radio so it's all rap music and nothing against rap but it isn't exactly what I'd prefer to listen to especially when it's the same five songs on repeat

That's like my dad with what he listens to and watches on tv. Every Saturday there's some station on the radio that plays really old time music. He loves it even if the guy that originally hosted it died not long ago. Then he gets in from work and has to get his cowboy shows or Andy Griffith in. He'll say "let's watch something everyone wants to watch," so I'll give him the remote since whatever I find isn't "something everyone can watch" even if he's liked it before. Next thing I know it's an old black and white show or some guys in old western clothing fighting Indians or confronting them.

Old timey music kind of puts me to sleep. I'll admit, some of it is okay, but it doesn't exactly get me energized or ready to jump into action with anything. XD

That definitely sounds like something he wants to watch more than "something everyone can watch." I think I'd just be playing with my smartphone the entire time or making up some excuse to go do something else. :P
