I started playing Pokémon the day it hit the States as well. I think I was 7 or 8? I forget which xD
Oh Pokémon in Heaven? It's probably so much more than that up there. More than any of us can dream of.
The time is upon us...

I was 8 when I started playing Pokemon. My uncle bought me a GB Color (purple, yay!) and Pokemon Blue as a gift while I was in hospital. I remember being annoyed that my brother played it first because I wasn't up to it at the time. xD Joined PE2K when I was 17, and heeeeeere I am. Still here at the age of 25. Good times.
I don't remember ever sticking with something so long in my life, except my art of course. xD
Considering most original Game Boy games were very simplistic, Pokémon Blue was pretty complex and deep (and I'm quite surprised they managed to get Gold and Silver onto it). The music was also quite catchy. This little song in particular is so nostalgic. XD
Memories incoming!
@Neo Emolga AWW, THE NOSTALGIA. ;O; This theme always creeped me out though, as a kid.
@Lunar Latias
Queue the creepypasta! XD
Who can ever forget the possessed Mediums in the tower? The weird stuff they'd say before they jumped into battles with you only added to the creepy zaniness. X3
I figured if games like Doom, Diablo, XCOM: UFO Defense, Shadow Man, and Resident Evil didn't give me nightmares, I was safe and sound even with the worst of Lavender Town. XD But I could see where a little kid would be like "whoa, this place is creepy and weird. AND WHY DOES THIS PERSON WANT MY BLOOD!?"
It does sound creepier when you play it backwards, but then again, so many songs sound really weird when played in reverse.
So I read that creepypasta thing about people getting sick and committing suicide from listening to the original Lavender Town song in Japan. And the first time I listened to the song on youtube I seriously got a splitting headache and felt so weird. xD The mind is a powerful thing!
Yeah, I can't listen to backwards songs for too long for that same reason. Everything sounds so warped and awful when you play a song in reverse.
It's also why I can't understand why some people get all frantic and say "oh, this has a satanic message if you play it backwards!" Umm... I think just about every song sounds a bit demonic if you play it in reverse. And that's because it wasn't meant to be played like that! XD
