They actually are quite consistent, at least in my research, just not in the way you'd think. Yeah it is based on the real one as far as I know, and they generally stay around the 21st of the month. For example, Spring this year starts on the 20th of March. The summer solstice will be on June 21st. The fall equinox will be on September 22. The winter solstice will be on December 21.

Ah I see. So your seasons start on those dates? xD I guess it makes sense. But I do like the simplicity over here of certain months = certain seasons haha. Seasons are getting pretty messed up anyway as far as I can tell. Hello climate change.

That's simply why. At the beginning of March it's still winter for much of the east coast temperature wise. Maybe not so in Australia but your climate is much different than here.
