I just beat Plumeria on the Battle Tree in what is probably the longest battle I've had against her. It came down to a long stallfest between my Vaporeon and her Toxapex, and eventually we ended up exhausting all of our moves down to Struggle. I won because Vaporeon had managed to burn Toxapex with Scald beforehand, and because Toxapex's only offensive move was Liquidation, which kept healing my Vaporeon.

Neither of I. The closest I've come is in Moon but I'm still resetting for a shiny Type: Null somewhat sporadically.

Same... I'm at the point where I have to go collect Type:Null, I think. But catching weird ultra beasts doesn't really interest me. :( All my good battlers are on ORAS and I don't really want to transfer them, especially as I can't get all their mega stones in SM.

they're still in the process of just giving out the mega stones actually. Dunno if they'll ever come out with them all sadly

Thanks. Once only those two were left on each side I went "oh no, this is going to go down to who dies faster to Struggle..." and sure enough it happened. Freaking stallfest shenanigans XD

Yeah, I can't remember which stones are already available, but I do know that the Kanto Starter Megas can be used, as they're the prize you get for getting a 20-win streak in Battle Tree Singles. You can also trade Battle Points for Mega Stones here, but I don't remember exactly which ones.

Also, quick warning to everyone, the Battle Tree is a lot more merciless than the Battle Mansion ever was. Is it more merciless than Battle Frontier, though? That I honestly don't know since I didn't know how to train Pokemon competitively back then, so I never even attempted those facilities.

That's mainly because the Battle Masion was the worst post game feature they've come up with when pretty much everyone told them how much they wanted Battle Fromtier back. What did we get for ORAS? A statue featuring the Frontier instead.....that was it :/

I still just want the Battle Frontier back myself

I actually quite enjoyed the Battle Maison because it was easy to get battle points to tutor moves and such in ORAS.
