It wasn't advertised it was mostly passed via word of mouth but that happens a lot around her to encourage young Peeps to vote.

That is all we shall have. No more burritos, no tacos, no quesadillas, no guacamole, no zapatas, none of that. Just donuts and burgers.

You poor, poor people. What's sad is that technically Clinton got more votes than him, but you're stuck with Trump because of the Electoral College system. I'm really worried for the state of the world right now, because not only has Trump managed to become President, but with Britain leaving the EU too, Korea being Korea and Russia being Russia, the uncertainty we face now is insane.

That's the only thing about this election that annoys me. I honestly don't care that Trump won, I care that he won even though Hillary technically got more votes. The electoral college is a stupid system. Again, I don't care who won, I would have still been complaining about this if the situation was reversed and Trump had more votes but Hillary won by the electoral college.

Although, the bright side is that if Trump won, the system probably isn't rigged... Unless that's what they want us to think.

Yeah the way it all works is pretty weird... it's similar here except that we have really small areas, called "seats" (based on population) instead of whole states. So each little area has approx the same number of people and gets 1 vote for a seat in parliament. Whichever party has the most seats in parliament at the end wins, and their leader becomes prime minister. At least this way it's not just too bad for you if you live in a state that gets to give out heaps of votes, where maybe only 51% of people disagree with you. :/

I said that to a couple of my friends who were really mad Clinton didn't win. They didn't find it very funny.

You have to narrow that down a little bit, buddy. There's two Koreas and they absolutely hate each other. Trust me, I have been both during my years of Model UN. One is a lot more fun to be than the other. You are correct to worry though, as Trump winning has caused many to worry about the upcoming elections in France and Austria. If the people who are projected to win do win, then from what I've gathered, it sounds like the EU is finished.

Believe me, any similar system is ridiculous. My personal opinion is that they should somehow combine the two; if someone gets the most votes AND the most seats, that's great, otherwise the one with the most votes should automatically win. That way there isn't much change, but the system is still fair. I have similar opinions regarding the UK electoral system, which is very similar to your Electoral College system.

Trump could very easily throw some of his cash around on rigging the vote. I don't necessarily think it was rigged, but he could just claim the money was for 'campaign charges' or something if he had rigged the vote using money, couldn't he?

North Korea. North Korea is by far the worst of the two Koreas, given all of the chaos going on there. Kim Jong-un has already warned Trump that they're not getting rid of nuclear weapons.

If Nigel Farage (some of you might not know him because he's one of the British MPs, but he is effectively the reason for our referendum to leave the EU) gets into Trump's cabinet as he's attempting to, then the EU is done for, because he'll restrict trade with the EU in a last ditch attempt to kill it for whatever reason he has. If France and Austria leave too, it's as dead as some of its precursors, and when one of those died (the League of Nations), war followed. As grim as it sounds, I am genuinely concerned that there will be another big war at some point in the future, be it a civil war in America or a global one.

The Model UN sounds really interesting. I've always seen stuff about it on American TV shows (namely The Simpsons), but it's not a thing in UK schools. What exactly do you do in it?

Pretty much you are assigned a country in a committee and discuss real world issues as that country. There's more to it than that but that's the basic explanation. Pretty much, Model UN is split into two categories of committees, General Assembly and Crisis Committees. General Assemblies are large and often based on real UN committees such as WHO or SPECPOL. Crisis Committees are much smaller, can be based on real UN committees but in my experience most are not, and often have updates from outside the actions of the committee. Crisis Committees usually consist of four categories: actual UN committee (most likely Security council), JCC, Fantasy, and History. The Security Council generally reflects the real life security council, has the five veto powers, and works on current events with updates that may or may not be actual real updates, for example, Israel going to nuclear war with Syria, or something like that. JCC, or Joint Crisis Committee, is two committees that have updates that impact one another or both, though they don't ever directly interact. There's no good way to explain it other than the give examples of it, the two that I know of being this past year my friends were in the RNC-DNC JCC and the previous year it was the two sides (America and England) in the War of 1812. Fantasy is pretty self explanatory, made up scenario, based on a story of sorts. The two examples I can give here are a Pirates of the Caribbean committee and the one I participated in which was the Trojan War from the perspective of the Greek gods. Then lastly, history, again, pretty self explanatory, take an instance of history and roll with it. War of 1812 would also qualify here but I've also seen the French Revolution, the American Revolution, and the Oregon Trail.
