Pikachu Will Fly! At Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Thanksgiving will be happening soon in the United States and it looks like Pikachu will be making an appearance once again at the dinner table!

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is scheduled to happen this Thursday on Thanksgiving Day starting at 9:00am Eastern time. Today Pokemon has announced that Pikachu will once again be one of the many balloons who will be taking part in the parade.
The Pikachu Balloon that flies in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade features Pikachu wearing a festive scarf and in his arms is a “Snowman Pikachu”. Pikachu and Pokemon have been in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for sixteen years and this will mark the third time that this variation of the Pikachu balloon has been used in the parade.
It is always exciting to see Pikachu fly in the parade and feature among other great icons. Make sure to tune into the parade and cheer Pikachu on as it soar in the skies of New York and helps welcome in the Christmas season!
Below is a video that Pokemon has release featuring fans talking about what they love about Pokemon and wishing the franchise a happy anniversary!

I love these Pikachu balloons, but they never say what happened to the two older ones.

But in any case, glad to know our favorite electric mouse is back. :D

The last one got a hole in it that was either unrepairable or they just thought instead of fixing it, it would be better to make a new one. I remember it was 2012 it flew last and both its ears were deflated when it showed. The main reason I remember that is because I could've been there that year if I had waited instead of going in 2011. That kinda sank in my mind. Also flying so soon after my lung collapsed that first time would've been hard or not possible.

I always waking up on Thanksgiving, watching the parade, and seeing the Pikachu balloon. I need to go back to New York one Thanksgiving and get more pictures of the new one now haha!

    The time is upon us...

Yeah, I had a bad feeling the last two were completely scrapped. I guess it doesn't come as a big surprise considering they can probably only fly these things so many times before they get too worn out and start to break down.

But yeah, seeing the parade is WAY better in person than on TV. Watching it on TV just gets you bombarded with cheesy holiday ads and commentary from announcers who don't what they're talking about whereas when you see the parade in person, there's no interruptions and you see a lot more.

Wouldn't be surprised if a collector paid thousands for an old balloon, patched it up and now it's floating over someone's house somewhere. XD

I was a big fan of the last one. I always loved the fact that the cheeks lighted up. That sounded pretty awesome. Though the current one certainly does fit the mood of the parade better.

I wish to one day see the parade in person but watching on TV is fine for me. I always get so excited watching the parade on TV and it really makes my Thanksgiving.
