Do you remember your dreams? Any recurring themes?

Holy, holy, frick, I just woke up from what I think was the whopper of all nightmares. If I didn't wake up screaming from this, I'm golden and ready for anything that comes after this mess. I don't remember all the details and I might be mistaken with some of this recollection, but wow, it was VIVID.

So it starts off with me and a few friends going to some community-built outdoor theater that looks like a some kind of playground, but it seated quite a few hundreds of people. Turns out, for we're there to watch the second to last episode of Game of Thrones, like ever, before the grand finale of everything.

It doesn't seem so bad at first, but it definitely spirals into something that was even worse than the grizzliest GoT episode. Now here, it seems to cut off and transition into something totally different. It might even be a whole other dream, which would make sense considering what happens after this.

Everything cuts ahead to a modern day setting, which is weird. I observe what looks like research being done on three large stone artifacts with carvings and insignias that seem to be related toward solving some ancient mystery or something. They were recently unearthed and brought back to some research university or something along those lines. Clearly not GoT or having any kind of relation to what happened before. At first, it seems like they're stuck and can't make progress or they originally don't think the supernatural riddle that surrounds these artifacts is actually authentic.

I then watch as an observer to what REALLY should have been left alone as Part 1 of a three part trial sequence, but I watch as one dude, by himself, decides to try and take on the "Trial of Pain" himself. Apparently, he just thought it was in name only. Welp, he actually figures it out, deciphers the runes or something, and performs the instructions perfectly. Some stone plates shift and the first clue is revealed: some necklace or amulet of pain. He thinks it's a major breakthrough in solving the first step of the riddle! Nah, he just starts a grizzly sequence of events that gets everyone killed!

He grabs the necklace and just screams before some grizzly death befalls him. Explodes into just blood or something, I don't quite remember (because what happens later is even worse!). But it does pave the way for solving Part 2 of 3 now that Part 1 is done for what seems for better or for worse (It's for worse, trust me). Some other researcher dude decides to try the second part. I figured it was some kind of "Trial of Entrapment" or something, but even despite what happened to the first guy and these are clearly artifacts that shouldn't be messed around with, nah, he decides to take a stab at it. Well, he solves part two, but ends up getting struck forever in some ancient machine engine or whatever it's supposed to be. We can see him, shrunken in size, behind a class encasing, looking like he's been enslaved to power the ancient machine for whatever reason. Looks like he's pretty much stuck there, probably for eternity.

So, the theme is in order to solve the final, ultimate riddle, each of these three parts named "Trial of <Insert terrible adjective here>" requires the puzzle-solver to sacrifice themselves. That part becomes abundantly clear. WHY these guys kept going was beyond me, because it seriously didn't seem worth it but supposedly there was something important and valuable to come out of it according to lore or legend. So, they take a stab at part three. I forget what the name of this grizzly "Trial of X" thing was, but one of the female researchers pleads with dude #3 not to do it. Probably his girlfriend or fiance. NAH, he assures her his selfless sacrifice will be worth it. Boop, he takes a stab at it, solves the puzzle, and unleashes some kind of two-foot tall folklore creature that looked like some blue half-human half dragon that everyone seems to recognize in horror save for me. From what I remember, it drags dude #3 into some abysmal void and all we end up hearing is just screaming. Lovely.

Apparently, all three of these grizzly trials were supposed to unlock something related to "Fortune." The whole scene plays out like the end of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Boom, these guys think they're locking the secret to wealth, power, and immortality but it's nothing but a whole lot of death and misery.

So now there's about three hundred of us in some giant ancient ballroom tower and these researchers think they've finally got a hand on this "Fortune" that makes all the grizzly sacrifice of their staff members worth it. Nuuupe. When the final part of the riddle is triggered, it's all goes south from there and gets even WORSE than what came before it! "Fortune" suddenly takes on the form of gigantic coins rolling down from the top of the building and surrounding the crowd of people, and just landing on them and crushing them underneath, but there are some survivors, self included, that move between the coins falling over and dodge them. But this happens for several more rounds, killing those not fast enough to move out of the way until there's only a small handful of survivors. Then the whole ballroom goes twisted. Instead of looking all fancy, it suddenly looks like a slaughterhouse. Severed heads, entrails, and grizzly hooks and bloody chains from the ceiling are everywhere. Yuck. Cue some screaming and I think a few more bloody, grizzly deaths. Something pretty similar to the end of the first Silent Hill movie. If you've seen it, you know what part I'm talking about. I don't think I'll ever look at barbed wire the same way ever again. XD

The remaining survivors (I think we're down to about a dozen after starting with about a hundred) are swept up and suddenly we find ourselves in some dark and creepy dining room that, uh oh, doesn't seem to have any exit doors. One of the people in the room is not what they seem. He makes it clear he's not human when his two eyes go all freakish, his head does a full 180, and reveals a black hole eye in the back of his head! A black shadow in the form of a hand launches out, grabs the head of some other dude just next to him, and disappears, leaving the guy headless. I'm kind of like watching all these horrifying and bloody events and thinking to myself "wow, this sure is some effed-up movie. Glad it's not one of those 4D things!" Hurr hurr, me and my big fat mouth! Everything gets darker and the last few survivors are absolutely freaking out. Some creepy shadow witch appears in the center of the table, laughing as everything is going dark. When it all goes black and I can't see anything, I feel on my skin what feels like creepy, shadowy fingers while the shrieking laughing is going on. Seems 4D enough for me, what do you folks think?

And then bam, I wake up, in a sweat, mesmerized, and immediately think "what the funk, that WAS A DREAM?" because that felt way more like a seriously effed-up movie that would have taken a huge group effort of the grizzliest horror-writing nutcases to conjure up. I honestly think it tops off what's supposed to be Hell in Dante's Inferno!

This one was BAD. Wow. Safe to say I strongly think it was the worst nightmare I've ever had and I've had some pretty grizzly dreams. Just when I thought "huh, haven't had a dream for a while, I wonder what the next one will be... CRRAAAAAAPPPPP!!!"

Wow. It's only seven AM here on a Saturday and I'm think I'm ready for some cute and silly cat videos.
