It's super old. xD But sure. It's incomplete and not that interesting. I had a written draft which was actually complete, whereas this one wasn't.

    Spoiler:
A smile tugged on a trainer’s lips as she fingered the single poké ball at her waist. The strong magnetic pull creating the link between the sphere and the belt loosened its hold as she pulled the ball lightly, and it dislodged, enlarging after she tapped it. Her fingers grew further apart to match the size of the circular object, and she waited in anticipation for permission to launch it.

A scrawny man stood to the side of an arena with a flag of green and a flag of red, his bright yellow shirt very distinguishing. He wore a cap with a poké ball symbol on its front, and he seemed focused as he scanned the battle ground. “Random battle arena: ice!” he called, alerting the two trainers on the freezing field but not causing them to lose where their attention was placed. “Recreational battle between Georgia and Nathan. Rules are as follows: one fire type pokémon may be sent out and used for battle; at no stage will a trainer be allowed to swap pokémon; the battle will last until one pokémon faints, and the other will win.” He took a breath, setting his eyes on one trainer and then another. “Trainers, release your pokémon.”

With a smirk and a planted kiss, the female trainer tossed her poké ball and watched as it clinked onto the ground and opened. A flow of red energy spilled from within to take the shape of a quadruped before the ball was drawn back to her belt. The light soon materialised into a deep orange pokémon with a fluffy mane and tail of yellow, along with a clump of fur resting upwards between his long and jagged ears. His excited eyes narrowed into a look of determination as they placed themselves onto the pokémon opposite him: a torkoal.

The male trainer at the other end of the arena had looked slightly less confident but still as focused, and he adjusted his jacket and flicked his dark hair back. His pokémon stood on stumpy orange legs with black bands that were required to support his hefty charcoal shell with spots of red. The creature whose neck extended a fair way up snorted smoke every few seconds, as if full of it and in need of expelling it frequently.

The referee’s voice overrode any tension between the pokémon as he commanded the trainers to step backwards onto a platform that would lift them up into a safe-box where another supervisor stood. He himself exited through a door behind him, disappearing into a room with tinted windows. Speakers on each corner of the arena vibrated as an announcement rang out. “Battle begins in three...two...one... Start!”

“Torkoal, use flamethrower!” demanded the fire pokémon’s trainer over the speaker system, and without a second thought he obeyed, nearing the flareon before unleashing a stream of hot flames.

“Flareon, dodge to the left!” Georgia shouted through a microphone extending from the machine-bench below her hands, and the speakers projected her voice loud and clear, allowing the flareon to dodge the attack without a problem. However, he slipped during his escape, falling on his belly with a grunt and a frown. Georgia reflected his expression, shivering as she thought of how cold the ice must have been.

The eevee evolution got to his paws again and began targeting Torkoal after being commanded to shoot a fire spin. He sprung off the ice and launched a spiral of fire in the other fire type’s direction, and the slow pokémon barely had time to react before he was stuck in the centre of the barrier surrounding him, embers spitting from the walls. The torkoal was dumbstruck for only moments before emerging with minimal damage, leaving the fire spin extinguished due to insufficient fuel.

    And that is all. XD

Oh, you flatterer! I actually remember it being really strange. xD Somehow the flareon wound up in the air and fell towards this pool of water which the ice had given way to, except he stopped his fall by bracing his legs on the ice in, like, one of those really cartoon non-realistic ways. XD Pretty sure he won the battle.

    Today's Pokemon is...

The Launch Pokemon, our first official Ultra Beast, #797, Celesteela!

    Spoiler:
“Thank you all for attending this meeting. I realize the call for this was quite short notice, but the situation in Alola has grown dire. I am Agent Looker of the International Police, and welcome to Operative UB.”

Jalal Attar stroked his rough black beard as he watched the tall detective at the front of the room give a speech. The man claimed he and the six others sitting in the room had been summoned for an emergency. If Jalal had to guess, it was due to rumored worm holes opening all across Alola. However, only one of the people sitting in the room currently was actually from Alola, and it was not Jalal, so he was not even sure exactly what happened. Still, this sounded like a result of that. Jalal barely paid attention as Agent Looker introduced each of the team members. He’d only acquaint himself with them if he had to work with them. He stood up and bowed as he was introduced.

“This is Agent Shock, and his partner, Rotom. He is an electric type specialist from the Sinnoh Branch of the PBI. With his experience in witnessing the Giratina incident some time ago, he was an ideal candidate to chase after Ultra Beasts, who can warp space and time it seems. He will be handling the ultra beast, Celesteela, a steel/flying type from what we can tell.” With that, Agent Looker moved on to the next agent and Jalal sat down. He felt a nudge on his shoulder and saw his partner beside him. Rotom smiled at him before turning his attention to Looker.

“If you will all head over to Anabel, she will deliver to you the things you need.” Jalal stood up and walked over to Anabel. He waited patiently for the purple haired woman to gather the supplies then pass them to Jalal. Jalal took the bag then exited the motel room. He still didn’t understand why they could not just find a more secure spot. Unclipping a pokeball from his belt, Jalal tossed it in the air. On the top of the things that he had been handed was a destination listed as Ula’Ula island. That was the one closest to Johto culture, if Jalal remembered his Alolan culture correctly. The man looked down at the yellow bird in front of him, an Oricorio from Melemele Island.

“Fly,” he commanded. The bird chirped before fluttering to Jalal’s shoulder. Rotom dove into Jalal’s bag before he took off, flying towards Ula’Ula island. Jalal got a few strange looks as he landed. He knew this wasn’t the normal form of transportation between islands. Usually the natives used Charizards, but Jalal felt more confident in his own pokemon. He began to look around to gather details of his surroundings.

A ship had just docked. Several people were getting off, including a young man and lady with what Jalal presumed was a younger sibling. The buildings were all definitely based on Ecruteak City in design, but Maile City seemed to have its own feel to it. The place wasn’t busy but it wasn’t abandoned either, also reminiscent of the Johto city base. Jalal looked up ahead on the street to see the entrance to the garden taped off. Something told him that’s where he was supposed to go. Returning his Oricorio to its pokeball, he began to make his way to the garden, picking up bits and pieces of conversation along the way.

“I know we are in a rush, but would it be okay if I treated you to an Alolan delicacy?”

“Did you see the latest fashions they have displayed in the clothing store?”

“The library might be the best place to look for that.”

“Extra extra! Monsters plague Alola! Read all about it!”

Jalal listened closely, finding some pleasure in the eavesdropping. He didn’t talk much on his own because he really enjoyed listening to others. He wasn’t sure why but it mattered little to him. Maybe one day he’d understand, but for now he’d settle with just talking to his pokemon. Walking up to the tape, Jalal flashed his badge and was escorted inside. Jalal was not sure what he had been expecting, but what appeared before him was not it.

The entire garden was abandoned, giving the atmosphere a much tenser feeling. The beautiful appearance was somewhat ruined by the destroyed architecture and the large ultra beast resting in the middle of the garden. Jalal tapped his bag and looked up as Rotom appeared.

“Heat,” Jalal said simply. Rotom spun and suddenly shifted into his oven form, ready to take on the ultra beast. Jalal and Rotom approached the large silver being, its body greatly outsizing its head. It straightened as Jalal approached before suddenly releasing a series of seed bombs. Rotom reacted without instruction. It released a thunderbolt, exploding them all. This startled the beast, causing it to cry out and launch more seed bombs. Rotom ducked and weaved, before releasing another thunderbolt straight at the ultra beast.

Jalal stood back and let Rotom do its work. He trusted his partner to know what to do. He skimmed over the instructions that had been given to him. Jalal expanded the unique pokeball he had been given as well, realizing he would have to catch the beast. Intriguing. They wanted to study it. He frowned a little. Jalal wondered if they were going to experiment on it. He shook his head. It was none of his concern really anyway.

Jalal heard a cry from his Rotom and looked up to see the Celesteela starting to wobble. Now was the time to strike. Jalal threw the beast ball at the ultra beast and it sucked in the ultra beast, clicking without hesitation. Jalal picked it up then began to return to headquarters.

Upon his return, Jalal noted that he was the last to return. Curious. He stepped forward to place the beast ball in the carrying case. He hesitated.

“What will be done with them?”

“They will be studied,” Anabel answered simply. That didn’t answer his question.

“Hey man just put the ball up! I want to go home,” someone complained. But Jalal was suspicious. It was almost like he was being hired as a bounty hunter. Despite the fact this pokemon was an alien, Jalal already had it set in his mind he was going to protect this ultra beast. Jalal pulled the ball back closer to him before sprinting out of the motel. He could hear shouts of protest as he charged into Lush Forest.

The sounds of nature surrounded Jalal as he charged deeper and deeper, the beast ball clutched tightly in his hand. He had to escape, he had to protect this pokemon. It was his duty as a PBI agent! Jalal heard shouts from somewhere in the forest, but he was moving away from the source, which was good for now.

“Give me back my bag!” Jalal thought he could faintly hear the laughter of a Passimian at the comment but decided to ignore it. He had a more important job to do. Reaching the opposite end of the forest, Jalal exited to the top of the route the motel was on and began to sprint towards the volcanoes. He glanced down at the beast ball in his hand and continued to charge forward, his life as an outlaw looking like it was about to begin.

Celesteela is gonna be a challenge. I haven't written anything because I've been on a writer's block and busy with work, but hopefully I'll be able to whip up something soon.

It actually wasn't that bad. I even got to reference my Lurantis and Sandslash stories briefly because the locations overlapped!

    Today's Pokémon is…

    The Tender Pokémon, #350, Milotic!

    Spoiler:
Cheers echoed throughout the arena as a various colored lights lit up the runway in the center of the building. The red curtains on the stage pulled back slightly, allowing a man with a tophat and cane exit. He walked down the runway to the center and took off his hat, bowing slightly before beginning to speak.

“Welcome one and all to the forty-sixth annual Ashton Myers Fashion Show! I’m your Master of Ceremonies, the great illusionist from Le Cirque de la Folie, Madder Hatter. We’ll begin today’s show with our dress portion. So without further ado, let’s get started!” Madder threw something to the ground and a column of smoke erupted, making the magician disappear from view. The music began to pick up as the first model entered the stage. A half wolf woman was showing up a magnificent red dress, her perfectly groomed tail swishing back and forth to accentuate the beauty of the fine dress. Backstage, many ladies waited for their turns. Among them was a half milotic woman and her assistant, a charmeleon gijinka. The milotic looked absolutely stunning, in the charmeleon’s opinion, better than anyone else at the show, but her opinion might be a bit bias, given they were sisters after all. Still, she could tell her younger sibling was very nervous.

“You’ll do fine, Sapphire,” she offered, “you’ve been practicing for this your whole life. I know you’ll do great. That runway was made for you.” Sapphire continued to stare in a mirror for a few minutes before looking over her shoulder at her sister. The worry was obvious in her pink eyes.

“You say that, Rose, but I can’t help but feel nervous. This is on such a larger scale than any of the other shows I’ve done. What if I mess up? What if I embarrass myself? This could be the one time our brothers are watching and if they see me mess up, what will they think of me?” Rose nodded sympathetically. She understood Sapphire’s concerns. Still, they couldn’t give up. This was their only way to reach them, at least, that she knew of.

“I’m sure they will still love you either way, Sapphire. So just be confident and stay strong. You can do it! For Mom, Dad, and our brothers, do for all of us.” Sapphire and Rose looked towards the curtain as the MC could be heard announcing the swimsuit models would be coming out next. That was Sapphire’s cue. The milotic quickly reached over and pulled her older sister into a hug.

“Thank you,” she whispered before running off towards the stage. Rose watched quietly before turning to the nearby television screen to watch her sister. Sapphire tucked back some of her red hair as she got into line. Thoughts were streaming through her head a million miles a minute. She hoped her brothers were watching. Being five years younger than them, she had only just been born when the two had been taken away by the Hunters. Rose barely had any recollection of them either, only being three at the time. Still, Sapphire knew her parents still missed the two boys, and it was her goal to bring them back home. Maybe they wouldn’t recognize her, maybe they would, but one thing was sure, one day Sapphire would find them.

Stepping out onto the runway, instinct took over. Without a thought, Sapphire began to run through her routine. Straight walk down, a slight swing of the hips and shoulders while keeping her head perfectly straight. She paused at the middle of the runway, the cheers erupting from everywhere around her. They were by far the loudest she had heard all night. Maybe it was because she was boasted to be the world’s most beautiful pokemon, or at least, she was half of it. Continuing to walk down the runway, Sapphire paused at the end and did a slow turn, lifting her arms to show off the swimsuit in the best way possible. With her red hair done in such a tight updo, it allowed for the back of the swimsuit to be seen quite clearly, as well as the tattoo on her back of a black charizard and a golden milotic, meant to symbolize her parents. Once she finished the spin, Sapphire gave a small smile before turning and walking away.

The end of the runway spin was her signature, something all the models in these circuits were required to have. While most modeling circuits frowned upon blemishes such as tattoos, the group Sapphire worked with preferred them. Little did they know, this was Sapphire’s calling card. Both of her parents were shinies after all, a very rare case that was practically unheard of in Sapphire’s world. Sapphire had gotten the tattoo in hopes that, if her brothers saw it, they would realize she was their sister.

Sapphire returned backstage to see Rose watching the television with a horrified expression on her face. Sapphire ran over and began to watch the TV as well. It appeared at some point during the show, the broadcast had been interrupted with some terrifying news. Slave uprisings had begun in the east as a rogue group of servants attacked large estates. Sapphire and Rose watched as fire exploded from the windows of the building on camera. Girls began to complain as the show stopped to accommodate the lack of a broadcast, but all the two sisters could do was lift up a silent prayer.

This was a lot of fun to write. It's a slight nod to a roleplay that I was once in where all the characters were servants tending to a household. Right before the roleplay died again, a mention of slave uprisings had begun to circulate, and it seemed like it was going to be an interesting plot point.

One of my characters, a charizard gijinka named Ethan, is one of the two older twin brothers of Sapphire and Rose. Whether or not they would eventually appear in the roleplay had yet to be determined, but I thought it would be a nice homage to the story to write a little short story about what the sisters must be doing without their brothers around.
