Sadly my type combo (grass poison) isn't very good for interviewing. If it works like last time, my grass type will cancel out any advantage being poison will give me, as well as vice versa :/

Hm... I wonder if my bonuses might cancel out as well. Hmmm...

You see, this is precisely the problem I had as a Volcarona before back at Serenity Town; at best my bonuses were neutral because everything cancelled the other out, so I had to do all the adventuring instead (and got blasted in the face for it). Though, if you have Restrain/Diplomacy, this isn't as much of a problem, but if you don't then, well... Uh. I'm kind of out of options there, other than switching, which is rather inconvenient. stupid racist Pokemon! At least in this game it's not just straight positive/negative for type, like before, so we may be able to spin that to our advantage (or not).

Of course, Ghost types don't resist Fairy and aren't weak to them, so I don't see why a Mimikyu would have any problems with that. Or maybe I'm missing something...? Ugh.

Don't worry, it seems like there'll be a lot of stuff to do other than just interview. If there's anyone we as a team can't cover, then someone with restrain or diplomacy can handle it. We'll be fine! :D

@Sacred Fire OMG are you just going to do that with everyone you think is suspicious? XD

@LKWayvern @azura evley @Morzone you guys are free to change pokemon before the event starts if you like! Just don't do it too many times because Neo will have to keep making you new userbars. xD And obviously once the game starts, you won't be able to change.

Also, type advantages work differently in this round. While having the same type will earn you positive rapport (which isn't racist...it's having something in common with someone xD), not very effective or super effective will have a level of intimidation/modesty. From the rules:

These Interviews are subject to a Rapport check, which is based on the type chart and evolution stage. Shared types generate positive reactions, not very effective relations generate a more modest reaction to the NPC, super effective relations generate a more intimidating reaction to the NPC, and having an evolution stage that's closer to the stage of the interviewee creates a more positive reaction, while having very different evolution stages generations a more negative reaction. Being the same species as part of the same evolution line (like a Raichu talking to a Pichu) automatically creates a very positive reaction.

So not sharing a type won't have as big of an impact as last time. The catch? You don't know who's going to react better to modesty or to intimidation until you try.

You can keep going back to the thread to refresh your memory. :] It's just like in any game. It looks pretty detailed to start with, but the further in you get, the easier it becomes and the easier you can remember things.

Feel free to keep personal notes to help you remember!

Super effective = INTIMIDATING! Because you're going up to someone weaker than you and basically threatening them. xD
Not very effective = MODEST. Because you're approaching someone who is strong to you who could crush you if they wanted (in theory). Some NPCs might find this weak, some might find it reassuring to know that you're not being threatening.

Same type, same evolution stage, or same evolution line = Positive rapport! Yay, they recognise you or feel like they can relate to you.
Different evolution stage = Negative rapport. If they have nothing in common with you then it's generally gonna be neutral, but if you're neutral with everything and a different evolution stage, that'll bring it from neutral to negative.
