Anime Opening Gets 3D Facelift

Time to see the original opening in a brand new way!

YouTube user QuickDrawCreate has given the first generation anime opening a 3D facelift, giving us an idea of how the series may look if it were computer animated.
The video, which lasts*a minute and 28 seconds, is an exact recreation of the Indigo League anime. You can view it below:

To compare, the user also put the two openings side by side, and that video is also available on their channel.

Wooowww, this was such a weird experience. I wonder what it would look like animated by a studio. Obviously this was only one person, and although they did an amazing job, it looks like they made all the models themselves which gives it almost a bootleg look. xD But it IS awesome and so much time must have gone into this. x___x Really, really cool for a fan made video. :3

It's a little weird to me, maybe because I've grown up seeing Pokémon in a certain way. But regardless, props to the creator!

I am honestly impressed! That was pretty well done and the 3D models were exceptional. Some of the animations felt a tiny bit stiff, but heck, I could swat that minor thing aside considering how impressive everything else looked.

I could tell a lot of work went into this and it's awesome.

Geez, that was weird. xD But really good for only one person! Although the models and animation seemed a little stiff, still better than the anime these days aha.

You gotta think, too.. This went from 2d FRAME BY FRAME animation. Literally every motion being hand drawn (lolthe90s), to a 3d CGI animation. This is absolutely phenomenal. It would also explain the stiffness of the models, because it's trying to keep real time with the 2d which was able to be a bit lazier in making things move, because you can skip a frame or 2 and it'd still look good, with 3d you don't get that luxury because then it looks like poop. Also, for one person, this must have taken a VERY long time to complete. Even for a short video like this, and taking short cuts. But the end products was so well done. Like I said, phenomenal. ESPECIALLY since it's just one person doing it. No way would I have the patience for something like that on my own.
