Just when you thought nothing could get worse than the Destno Public Housing Complex, you find the abandoned Windstone Housing Project, which is a tower of junk and looks like it has been abandoned for a while. Even the squatters have better places to head off to.
You search the first ten floors. The hallways have paint peeling from the walls and the doors for the apartments, where they are doors, are often falling off the hinges and are crumbling apart like peanut brittle. The laminate floors are also broken and rotting and the sheetrock ceilings are rotting away with plenty of patches of water damage. Meanwhile, it feels like everything you touch and walk upon just crumbles apart. You're definitely convinced one good hurricane and this entire place would be dust.
Just about every room has broken windows. Meanwhile, everything that was left behind is junk or is in complete disrepair. Essentially, Windstone has become a storage house for trash and other garbage. It actually seems like a good place to hide something valuable as it seems unlikely anyone would ever find it here. The electricity and water pipes have been turned off, but you're convinced most of the lights probably wouldn't work here anyway. Heck, the old wires probably might even start a fire.
Upon arriving on the fourth floor and checking apartment 481, you hear a sudden snap sound and you quickly jump out of the way just moments before a dart whizzes past your face and strikes the wall instead. You look around and find a note on the floor:
"That's what you get for trying to steal my stuff again, Natisha! I told you to stop snooping around here!"
You realize for a moment that whoever set this up really didn't expect an unrelated stranger to stumble into it, but thankfully you were able to dodge the trap before it struck you. Meanwhile, despite the trap, it seems like the only thing here are just children's belongings, though they do seem nefarious. The kinds of things that kids would use to cause mischief, such as bottle rockets, cherry bombs, and spray-paint seem to be in secret stashes here, though.
You decide to keep searching and while you find a lot of strange things among the garbage, you don't find anything else that's significant on the other floors. Although you do wonder if there's anything else here that might be hidden in the floors above.
After a long and tiring search, you decide to head back.
