You find Barnaby lives on the 40th floor of the Seawish Tower. When you knock on the door, he opens it and the sea lion Pokémon beams with a smile as he welcomes you inside.
"Hey, hey, welcome to my apartment!" he tells you, welcoming you inside his fun and friendly casual living space. "What can I do for ya!?"
You accept the friendly gesture and join him inside, where he has quite a comfortable crib here with cushy sofas, a nice holoscreen television, and cool and fun knick-knacks around. For just but a moment, it makes you feel cozy enough to forget about why you came here in the first place, but you quickly remember despite all the cozy distractions.
You explain about how the Emissaries are looking for details about the Stalkers and you're hoping Barnaby could help out. He nods, feeling he could be on to something that might prove useful.
"Hey, ya know, I just might!" Barnaby tells you with a smile. "Thankfully, I have a job that allows me to work from home all the time. I'm a professional blogger! It's a great job as long as ya get lots of readers and always have a great new batch of writing material! Okay, so I have one blog called 'Dream Job Day' that talks about matching dream jobs with the actual Pokémon that have those jobs! I managed to get an interview with that music star, Sharley! And she's HARD to get a hold of! I've also interviewed a few Pokémon over at the Platinum Tower Skyscraper. CEOs of big, major corporations and stuff like that. So many people want to be a CEO, but you know, it's tough work. It's not just about big money. But I try to make the blog fun and the Pokémon I interview know it too!"
"So, what does that have to do with the Stalkers?" Barnaby asks with a smile while looking a big bashful. "Aww, okay, I was hoping I'd get you interested as another reader! Anyway, I did some research and put some pieces together. Now, I don't think the police would believe me if I told them, but I kind of noticed a pattern between some of the Stalker-related deaths and the nature of them."
"This is going to sound really strange, but... there's a weird Stalker that can somehow make a Pokémon rich and famous... before they kill them," Barnaby tells you. "Okay, did you read the article on how Utab died? Supposed he wrote that thriller series, Restless Awakening, but HOW? I read it and it's genius, but it doesn't match his background! He was just a diplomat. He couldn't have written that, and yet, he did and no one claimed he stole it. A known-to-be panicky Bouffalant writing seriously amazing novels. So it doesn't make sense. Before him, there was Danzi. Do ya know who Danzi the Lopunny was? She was a new pop star singer killed by poisoning too, but she was another one of these pop star overnight stories. I read up on her and she was working at the flippin' Market Basket Grocery Store before whoa, suddenly she's a superstar singer extraordinaire! Before dying a few days later. It's creepy. I've heard of Stalkers doing all kinds of grizzly stuff, but this is on a whole other level."
"And that's how I found the pattern," Barnaby tells you. "I was all ready to interview both Utab and Danzi to see just how this revelation came about, and then boom, they're dead. Star novelist overnight. Pop culture singer. Overnight. Dream jobs Pokémon would adore to have, and yet... they're dead. Won it all to lose it all. How?"
"Now, most Pokémon would suspect a poison-type of doing something like this," Barnaby explains further. "Nah. Whoever this Stalker is would know that. There's a different pattern I've been noticing. There's poison, but if you check out the crime scenes in the photographs, there's signs of water. Meanwhile, whoever has been doing this to these Pokémon has been spending a lot of their own personal money just to buy them fancy clothing and jewelry to be found dead in. Danzi was found in a fancy white dress she never brought herself. Now that's suspicious as heck. I read up so much on her because she had such a fascinating story and I swear, her music... if it really was her music, was amazing. Somehow there's a Stalker that knows exactly how to match any Pokémon's trait as a talent with something that just works amazing. And Danzi was... one of those Pokémon chosen."
"Now, I've been following my readers and what they've been saying," Barnaby tells you. "Some of them suspect it's a water Pokémon. One of my readers thought they saw a shadow or something jump into the water close by to where Danzi was killed that night, and another kid hoping to get an autographed copy of Restless Awakening from Utab thought they might have seen something similar with the water and how there were streaks of water and small puddles around. Yep, the very night and area Utab was killed. If that's the case, we're dealing with a Stalker that lives in the water. And that must mean whatever they're doing and where they're working has to be close to the water, also."
"Whew, sorry about that!" Barnaby flushes with a bit of embarrassment. "I tend to talk a lot, but I hope ya don't mind. Bloggers naturally have a lot to say! Well, thanks for stopping by! I hope ya find this guy before he hurts anyone else! It's one thing to have a dream to go big, but we want our stars to be safe and sound, too!"
