    Pokemon GO Consistent Logins Down

The number of users logging in every day to Pokemon GO is down 80%, according to reports from ComScore.
Daily users for the smash hit mobile game are down significantly a year on from its release. The game earned $35*million from its 30 million users in its first month, and continued to dominate the App Store in a diminished capacity*before returning to the top of its charts after a Generation II update.
Although, the game’s daily users have dropped from 28 million to 5 million as of the end of last year, with commenters on the original article citing bad updates and a lack of features and ease of use as reasons why they stopped playing.

They would never be able to sustain the crazy numbers, no matter what they did.

    I agree.

As fun and great as Pokémon GO is, it's an anomaly.

I think it still needs work. It crashes while starting up, checking gyms, and while trying to initiate a Pokémon capture. Also, unless you have Pokémon that are at least 2000CP, you kind of feel illrevelent. I definitely don't want it to die out, though, because it is fun and gives you extra stuff to do while walking.

You're right on the money about having Pokémon of your own that are at least 2000CP. I remember I stopped playing for a few days because I too busy to give it the attention I felt it needed, and when I returned, everyone had progressed SO MUCH. I felt left out and wasn't in the mood to play catch-up, especially since a ton of players cheated (unfortunately) to get to where they were.

Definitely this. There are always the die-hards that play the game religiously, but I have a feeling that unless something is done where players enter separate leagues, only the elite few will remain and then eventually they'll die off. There needs to be much more for regular casual players to do or have a situation where things are more around their level.

To be honest, I wish they would drop CP entirely.

Also, I tried playing it again just now. Crashed twice trying to start up, was able to catch three Pokemon before it crashed again from the item menu. That's a real deal-breaker amount of bugs right there.
