I get your point but I don't think this means they HAD to make 2 whole games just for one little difference. They could easily have a choice at the start where you pick whether you played Sun or Moon previously if it's that important to the story. (Besides I would probably choose to play Ultra Moon even though I played Sun, for something different) I just feel like it's a bit of a cashgrab when they do stuff like this where one game would have sufficed. xD
Oh don't get me wrong, it's a TOTAL cash grab, but that doesn't mean it's just because they want to make more money. There's probably plot purpose to it too like in BW2, that's all.
