Mockingjay Part 1 is ok. Personally I think the other movies are better, but since I've read the books that opinion is probably biased some. But with Mockingjay, despite its being really good, they took a look more liberties with the script in this movie than in the previous two.

Oh really? One of the things I loved about the previous movies in the series were how closely they followed the books. Mockingjay was my least favourite book though, so it might not be so bad if they change some things. xD

Hallelujah someone agrees with me! I personally hated Mockingjay because of… well to avoid spoilers the unecessary killings. Out of all the characters who did die, I felt one was completely unnecessary and the other pretty much defeated the purpose of the book. Don't get me wrong, the movie is great but a lot of the things that hooked me in aren't there anymore.

I saw Big Hero 6 the other day. It was pretty good! The robot is so funny. xD Overall a pretty sad movie though. Very intense for Disney.

Well, apparently Strange Magic totally bombed on Rotten Tomatoes (critics gave it around 11%, users gave it around 55%). Shame, animated movies in the fantasy genre are rare (I think the Shrek movies are the only other ones I know of) and that one actually looked pretty well-animated but someone else dropped the ball on the storyline and humor. If I was an animator who spent loads of hours for a movie and that happened, bleh, I think I'd pull my hair out. Or if I had to come up with the story and the humor for a movie that so much time and money was going into to be fully animated, you can bet I would amp my creative juices to the max to come up with something that would be a grand slam.

I take Rotten Tomatoes with a LOT of grains of salt, though. Con Air, one of my favorite action movies, only got a 55% on there (essentially an "F" if this was an exam) and gave Shooter only a 48%, which I thought was also a great action flick. And yeah, there's times when they give movies I thought were junk ratings in the 90s (91 for The Departed? Seriously?).

Departed was pretty trash, but the movies they were based off are amazing: the Infernal Affairs trilogy.
