I drive pretty much every day, and a lot of highway driving at that.

You definitely will get used to it. Even driving 40mph on local roads used to make me anxious, but now I just cruise and listen to tunes everywhere I go. Start slow, get a bit higher and higher, and just be aware of your surroundings. Honestly, your biggest concern is really just the way other people drive. Ask yourself "what's the dumbest thing the person in front of me can do" and just be ready for it. Don't push yourself to go faster than you need to, and be aware and prepared to brake.

And yes, I still don't like parallel parking.

Still feels weird, but I'm the same honestly. 24 and don't drive....Zoe more specifically don't "like" driving. I do drive to try and get over all that anxiety, but it's still sticks with me at time. Mostly over it now, but those highways, especially around here aren't too fun.

Who does like to parallel park? Lol

Lol, I'm never going to drive. I'm afraid to learn how, so, I... probably will never be able to do that. u_u And honestly, even if I did, I'd never be able to afford a car. =/

Depending on where you live it can be pretty intimidating yeah. A youtuber I watch put up a video recently where he drives a car for the first time (at 24). It's not so uncommon today really. Yeah it's pretty expensive and probably gonna only get more expensive.

It's weird, lately I've be so inspired, or enthusiastic about wanting to get back on trying to start writing something. I've had notes written down, but other than characters or general ideas of maybes for plot I've been stuck for the last year with nothing. Finally picked it up again recently trying to start, but I've been stuck trying to start again. It's amazing that reading someone else's fanfiction kickstarted me back. There any place to check out some good tips or any advice (for those with experience)?

I agree that driving can be daunting, and I don't think it's strange at all not to want to drive/not to have your license. It gives me so much anxiety...I'm seventeen and I don't drive (I took driver's ed, but was never really thrilled to go get my permit, so I never did). I do plan to get my license when I'm 18, though! I'll get my license late May, and then I'll be driving six hours by myself to college only two months later. rip me

Also, happy belated to everyone whose birthdays I missed!!

My mum signed me up for lessons. The guy arrived at my house and my mum told me if I didn't want to go, then I could go out there and tell him that. o_o So I learned to drive. xD I'm really glad she pushed me. I didn't want to learn either and I was really nervous but it's a really useful skill where I live since public transport isn't the best. And now I drive every day! It's hard to go back to waiting 20 mins for a connecting bus when I can do the whole journey in 20 mins by car. :P

It took me ages but I loved learning to drive. Especially after I got my car. See, my mums car was 170hp. My stepdads car was 200hp. My nannas car was 110hp. Then I got my car. 227hp. Hell, yes. That thing went quick. Like, my first few drives I spun the wheels every time I took off. I loved it.

So yeah, I enjoyed driving, and the result of it all was being able to drive by myself. So yeah, I was keen. Still, I didn't get my license until I was 19 and a half, as opposed to friends who were 18 when they got theirs.

Actually Sarah in the last few days I did a complete 180 with my driving. It hit me how stupid I was driving when I drove from Eltham McDonalds to my house in Ringwood in 15 minutes (it should take half an hour or more). Basically swore off being stupid on the road.

On a side note, I had s pretty crap night. We did a talent show at youth which I was so excited for however it turned to crap for me.

Basically I know we were short on time weeks ago. So I picked a song that was less than 3 minutes, and made sure to be the first to sign up so my name was at the top of the list and I would play first whole they were more relaxed on time.

Basically, the people organising it love asking for my opinion then completely disregarding it. They wanted five judges but I told them that it would take too long and to do three. They didn't listen. Then I found my name set to play second last. Hell, even the people who signed up too late played before me. So it gets to my act and I am gonged out (the judges way of saying "you are taking too long, and we are short on time so stop playing." After only two minutes (very one else got 3-4). So yeah, I am unhappy that I did the right thing and still got screwed over.
