Look. I've learned a lot from playing games. I was the only one in my year 10 class who already knew how to spell photosynthesis because of Pokemon. XD I also learned that fatigue was not pronounced fatty-gyoo and that astonish was a word at all. IT'S EDUCATIONAL.

SARAH THAT IS SO EXCITING!!!!!!!! How many chapters did it consist of? And haha, well, maybe you can use that as your motivation! O:

Yeah I don't think they're not useful or anything I just can't help feeling like I should be doing something more productive like writing or going outside. XD Haha fatty-gyoo! xD I was allowed to pick my own spelling words in grade 5 and I picked all Pokemon moves. XD I learned to spell Seismic and stuff through that. After a couple weeks of that though, my teacher told me to pick actual words as she didn't think I needed to learn the names of Pokemon attacks. Little did she know... XD

It is 6 chapters! I had chapter 1 mostly done from when I started, since that's like the topic introduction. It's like 15,000 words so I might need to cut it down a bit before I submit. XD Then chapter 2 is methods, and then I have three results chapters, one of which is giant and like 24,000 words. u_u The others are like 8000. And now the final discussion chapter where I just have to bring it all together. Phew!!! I've honestly forgotten how to NOT feel like I should be doing my thesis AT ALL TIMES. xD It'll be so weird when I'm done and I'll literally have nothing I need to be doing (until I get a job xD).

*Is so glad he went to a grad school that didn't require a stinkin' thesis.*

YOU CAN DO IT! Close PXR, SLAM THIS THING, and come back to us all cool and badass with this thing done and out of your mind. >:3

Haha yeah you're lucky! Once I finish writing I still have to go back and fix up a bunch of things, but I can't submit it before Christmas now anyway as the uni closes for a couple weeks. So I don't feel like I'm in a rush. xD Ugh. Maybe I subconsciously don't wanna finish cos I have no idea what I'm gonna do after. Gonna write as much as I can today though. It wouldn't take so long if I didn't need to find a journal article to back up everything I wanna say all the time. Some of the genes I'm working on were discovered in the 80s and have had their names changed like 4 times. So it's hard to keep track of them through all the papers as everyone refers to them as something different. xD Silly scientists.

Instead of a thesis, we had a large group project that had to be presented before a review panel. It actually wasn't bad considering there were so, so many group projects before that and by then, I had gotten so used to them that it was pretty much a breeze.

I'd way rather do that than do a thesis or defend a dissertation, even though group projects have their own no-so-fun challenges. At least by the time you get to grad school, most people care enough about their education that they don't screw around, loaf off, and expect the rest of the group to carry them. And if you rock Powerpoint, group projects are easy cheese.

I'm at about 2500 words of ~4500 of my FINAL THESIS CHAPTER!1!!11 and I just can't find the motivation to smash it out. I wanna go home and play Pokemon! ;_;

We don't have any extra credit stuff here. I always wondered how it worked. Like you can get extra marks just by doing some extra assignments or something? xD Is it something everyone usually does? Here it's just too bad if you don't do well on stuff haha.

Usually how it works is they make you do some extra activity outside of class that bumps up either an assignment grade, an assessment grade, or your final grade by a certain amount of points. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, as it won't count against you if you do not. However, it is usually frowned upon if you don't do it. Not everyone offers it though. Many of my professors this year are "you get what you earn" graders which means there's no rounding up or extra credit offered.

Ah I see! I assume you still can't get over 100% for the grade though? So if you did awesome on an assignment, you wouldn't bother doing the extra credit for it? How interesting that they give people more chances and stuff.

Not necessarily. In high school generally yes because of the grading system but in college I've gotten a 102 on an assignment and it really helped my grade because the grading system is different. Plus often times teachers will put the extra credit points elsewhere if it won't impact your grade that much.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with all that. My best bro is about to be in his final semester, but he has 5 finals in his way....5 freaking finals, i would be losing my mind.
