I was always wondering about that.

If an apartment building says "no pets," does that just apply to dogs and cats, or ALL pets? Like they wouldn't even want you keeping a goldfish or a hermit crab?

When I was sharing a unit with a friend we weren't allowed to have pets. So, naturally, we bought a rabbit, a guinea pig and a couple of goldfish. XD They never found out.

I can't imagine anyone would mind if you had a goldfish or something, but its probably easier just to say no pets.

See, we were supposed to have inspections but the real estate agents must have been too lazy to get their butts in gear and actually check. xD However, we had a game plan where we'd just move the hutch around the side of the house (cause it was such a narrow space) and cover it with something. The fish could have easily gone to my mum's.

That's just awesome! But really, I don't see what the big deal is as long as the pet doesn't make a lot of noise or cause a huge mess.

Yeah, exactly! I mean we had the hutch inside the unit, but we vacuumed all the straw around it every couple of days so it stayed relatively clean. Other than that they made little noise. Unlike my terrible neighbours in the unit behind. =n= They were MUCH worse than pets.

Totally. Stupid, lazy, careless people can be a lot more of a problem than a well-kept pet that has responsible owners.
