Favorite sounds

Do you have a favorite sound? This doesn't include music. This came about because it is raining right now and I always LOVE listening to the rain. Another sound I love is listening to the cat purr.

--the "do-ling" of ye olde gray brick Game Boy starting up
--birds singing
--the sizzle of meat cooking
--the "chik-nk" of a game card going in the 3DS
--the hum of a PC running

I LOVE the sound of rain/distant thunder. It really calms me. Also thirding cat purring.

Also, the noise fans make. Even if it's really cold I'll go to sleep with the fan on because of the noise.

Another one is the sound of water/the ocean.

i am the crazy volvo guy. but in all seriousness i love the sound of a well tuned engine. doesnt matter what kind of engine. from small 4 pots to massive V12's and motorcycles and forced induction too. it just puts a smile on my face when i hear a good engine. my favorite engine sound is inline 5 perferably turboed.

I like the sound of rain most, I think. And wind through leaves. And just the sounds of being out in nature. Trees creaking, birds calling etc.

I also like the soothing rumble of thunder. Pair that with the light pitter-patter of rain and everything's good. It's also why I don't mind rainy days at all. If every day was the same sunny thing all the time, well, it would be boring.

I like the sound, when I'm outside and it's raining hard and I don't have an umbrella or anything... I also like the feel of rain, especially if it's warm rain...
Wind through leaves, too, that's wonderful.
The soundtrack to the show Cosmos is literally heaven for me for personal-ish reasons. but we're ignoring the song rite of spring, that song legitimately unnerves and scares me
I also like the sounds of xylophones and glockenspiels and church bells.

I love any natural sounds. Rain YES Whistling wind YES thunder YES. just the general sound of the outside too. the ambience of it calms me. The sounds of rain and wind take me back to the days when I would go camping with my dad and I used to fall asleep to the sound of the rain and wind. I love it. I also like the sound of a fan. Even if it is freezing in my room and the winter i sometimes put my fan on so I can fall asleep to the sound because it calms me. Any sound you would hear when you are having a walk through a forest or a field I would most likely find calming. Like the sound of crickets and swishing of grass etc.

That crunchy, crisp, sharp sound when you tear the plastic off a brand new game as it slides so smoothly off the case. Ah...
