After what you encountered at 553590's deplorable boiling chambers, no one can blame you for wanting to get some rest in tonight. Thankfully, your wounds have stopped bleeding, but they're going to need time before they mend and fully heal. Meanwhile, those horrifying thoughts and nightmares are still swirling in your mind. You're convinced heading out there would just be dooming yourself and there's not much more of this you could endure out there.

You climb into bed, gently lie down, and rest your tired head on the pillow cushion. It feels even better than you thought it would and you don't have to do much to get comfortable here. You gently close your eyes, exhale with a gentle sigh, and let serene sleep carry you away from the nightmares for a while.

With this, you feel you're beginning your journey to recovery and you're looking forward to getting to the end.

I can analyze that Material Logbook, if you like

You decide to look through the [Material Logbook: <Science>] to delve into what knowledge it might have and what resources it can provide. The Material Logbook, as you quickly discover, was written by Nhils. Their creepy name appears in a number of places and you're familiar with that name already.

The writing is creepy, cryptic, and very scientifically detailed. Most Pokémon wouldn't understand the diagrams and the technical writing, but what you read just appalls you. Page after page of explanations on how to use a Pokémon's skin, scales, bones, and other body parts as raw materials to construct morbid and macabre tools, bags, and even clothing.

It really hits you hard when you get to the pages that go into great, lengthy detail on all the ways a Pikachu like yourself could be used. Your yellow fur, your body parts, your bones, and more could be used to create any number of horrific creations. All the while, after seeing so many graphic images and sketches of this abysmal reality, it makes you look like no̻͔̪̹̜͕thing more than raw matȩ̪rial product and th̟̠̗e vȩ̪ry tho̻͔̪̹̜͕ugh̟̠̗t and feeling of it crȩ̪eps into your d̠͎̰ͅa̸r҉̠͚͍͕͍̣k̫̰̯̗͈ͅe̤̼̮s̵͚̭̣̳t ̦̦̯͙̞im̢̥̯̻̹͙ḁ̧͚g̺͉͕̮͉̬̼i̼̪n̴ͅa̱̤̗t̥̥̩̖i̷̜o̻͜n̤͜ͅ ͉̖̤̣̼.

You do find something a bit more useful about the logbook, however. There seems to be a very distinctive insignia for the "True Blacksmiths" and you makes you recall what was found at the Rubinelle Condominiums. There's probably a connection between the two, but for now, you need that missing link.

Having read more than you would have liked, you decide to close the book. As you feel a chill in your spine, you definitely feel Nhils is one Stalker that needs to be eliminated as soon as possible...

I really wanted to get that old safe at #20 this day, but you know better safe than sorry! Get it? Because tonight I'm going to lockpick the safe? And the box safe can be used as the protect safe? No?

You head back to the abandoned Arrowsaw Manufacturing Plant tonight, wondering just what may be in that old safe that was found. It seems not much has happened here since it was last visited, which you find is probably good as it could get creepy if you felt you were being watched the entire time you were here.

You head toward where the factory's offices and administrative areas are and eventually you find the old safe. As you inspect it, you're pretty sure they don't even make locks like this anymore and the key is probably long-gone by now, wherever it may be.

You pull out your trusty set of picks and your favorite tension wrench to begin work. A lot of damage has been done to this old lock as it seems they tried to force it open by either a crowbar, hammer, or some other heavy blunt object only to get nothing out of it. It's definitely a strong lock and you feel this is where brains over brawn are going to take care of this one.

The tumbler mechanism isn't too complicated and only has a few pins. Of course, banging on it isn't going to help, but with a little careful picking, raking, and dexterous manipulation of the pins, you disengage the lock.

{Old Safe: <Lockpick>}

You can't help but smile knowing it has probably been many many decades since this safe was opened and you can only wonder what's been sitting inside this whole time. With a bit of excitement, you grab the old safe door and swing the squeaky heavy metal door open, shine your light inside, and see what's been lurking in here.

You jaw almost drops.

Money. Loads of it. Heaps and heaps of Barendal Poké bills in tightly-bound stacks. Probably even enough to buy a whole building or factory in Southwarren if you wanted it! You even realize this would have been more than enough to stop Arrowsaw from going under if they were only able to get this lock undone. If only...

You're not sure what you and the other Emissaries will be able to use this money for, but you're sure you're bound to find something! You eagerly take the bills with you.

Item [Wad of Barendal Poké Bills] has been added to the Team Inventory.

You then head back to base with a bit of a skip in your step. The rest of the team is going to love hearing about what you found here!

I knew something was wrong when he didn't pick up his phone. Not his phone... not his radio...

...this wasn't his own doing. He was too strong for this...

Britera didn't want to hear "you're all we have left." But they were the words that Sten the Bellossom told her when they found there was a reason why all attempts to reach Lexin were met with nothing. There was almost an hour of what started off as curiosity, then concern, then worry, then fear, and then outright raw, hideous fright when they discovered the truth.

Britera and Sten were all that were left of the Southwarren Police Force now. With the Southwarren Police Chief murdered, someone else needed to step up. But that was not something they wanted to discuss tonight.

"Damn it," Sten muttered, looking at Lexin's grotesquely self-mutilated body. "I swear, Britera, I can't take pictures of this."

"Don't," Britera told him, barely able to speak the word. "Just... just don't."

But the word repeated itself in Britera's mind over and over and over again. ENIS. Enis was the one who did this. Enis was the one who drove Lexin to kill himself and she knew it was probably the one way he never would have wanted to die, because to Lexin, no matter how hard things got, suicide was wrong. Suicide was cowardly. This was not his doing, however. Enis made him do this, and Jeb had already warned Britera about Enis. But now Enis made it personal.

According to rank hierarchy, if something happened to Lexin, Britera was supposed to take command. It felt foreign to her before, but now she felt ready. It couldn't end this way. It was time for the red tape to die. Her ways would be unorthodox, her strategy would be brazen, and her tactics would be daring, but she refused to continue to let this happen.

She was going to fight to take back this town. She was not going to continue to let this happen and if there was someone, anyone who could help, they would be there. It didn't matter if they were a lawyer, a chef, a factory worker, an engineer, or whoever. Anyone who cared about Southwarren could be there to help. And while there were many that had felt, she decided to stay because no matter how many Stalkers there were out there, this was still home to her and no one kicks her out of her home. Despite the smog, despite the noisy factories and despite the arid landscape, this was a home that belonged to her. It wasn't perfect, but it was home.

And it was the home Lexin stayed in. She knew he fought for this, too. Fought until the bitter end. Fought because he believed in something more than running away, and that standing and proving ground meant more than simple survival. It was because it was his duty to protect others, and he had sworn to protect Southwarren.

"You haven't forgotten the oath to Southwarren," Britera said softly to Lexin's body, "and I will make sure Southwarren doesn't forget about you..."
