You head to the apartment above the Clean Easy Laundromat, where you once again find Vicker watching another documentary. The dusty living room is completely dark save for the light coming from the television, and Vicker is simply sitting on the couch again looking stoic while he continues to fiddle and fidget with the metal triangle.
This time, the documentary about theories of life after death. You watch it for two minutes and it's clear they've got it completely wrong with some faraway culture called the Ezen believing in unified spirit pools while the Alsha in another corner of the world totally doesn't believe in life after death at all. But, you decide you keep your true knowledge of Utopia and Abyss sealed behind closed lips, and for good reason.
"Oh," Vicker says, suddenly realizing he's not alone. "You again. I swear, Muruna really needs to lock the bloody door. You Pokémon keep coming around here uninvited."
"Afraid of the Stalkers?" you ask him.
"Well, it's more the enjoyment of some quiet alone time," Vicker replies, turning back to the TV. "What exactly did you want anyway?"
"We need you, alive," you tell him. "We need everyone in this town alive."
"Well, I'm doing just fine, but-"
"You don't understand," you suddenly interject. "You know that blood-stained metal triangle is something that belongs to the Stalkers. It doesn't serve you any purpose besides putting a target on your head for those Stalkers to try and get it back. You want peace and quiet? Sure, but holding onto that will give you anything but."
He looks at it, still fiddling with it, but he doesn't seem too anxious about it. At least not yet.
"Well, that's why I booby-trapped the... say, how did you get through that anyway!?" Vicker asks you, looking irked now.
"What if I was one of them?" you ask him. "I was standing there for a solid two minutes as you were watching that TV. You don't want to know how much can go wrong in two minutes time."
"But you're not a Stalker, right?" he asks, suddenly looking a bit more anxious.
"It only takes seconds for them to render you helpless," you warn him. "Just mere... seconds. But they won't kill you quickly. They sure took their time enjoying what Shala and Salsha could provide for their sadistic entertainment. How about you? They would enjoy someone like you. Someone who thought they could lure them in by holding onto one of their possessions and had the ilk to attempt to booby trap the door. But them taking their time killing you wouldn't be the worst part. It would be the part where you die knowing that stupid thing that was utterly worthless to you got you killed and the whole town would know and think of you as an idiot for chancing something like that. But you would be dead and totally unable to rebuttal. All while you thought you could be a hero using an easily-avoidable trap. That's the problem, Vicker. You know you're not able to deal with that or the Stalker that will find you."
His confidence seems to fade and he really looks unhappy. He doesn't fiddle with the bloodstained triangle anymore, and after giving it a few last glances, he sighs.
"Look..." he mutters, feeling a little embarrassed, "I guess... okay, the booby trap on the door thing is dumb. I'll admit, I don't know what I'm doing with this after all or how it even works. Just... I don't know, get rid of it and don't tell anyone about this, okay? I'll take down that stupid trap."
"I won't tell anyone," you assure him. "Doesn't do any of us any good to tell anyone else anyway."
He then hands over the metallic bloodstained triangle, not even wanting to give it one last parting glance. You take it and he just avoids making eye contact.
Item [Bloodstained Triangle] has been added to the Team Inventory.
"This isn't like me, but... something you said reminded me of the way my dad got himself killed," Vicker tells you, looking like he just recalled some rather bad memories from years back. "He also did something... dumb, but I'd rather not talk about that. Look, let's forget this ever happened. And as long as you don't tell anyone... if you need anything... I'll see if I can figure something out. Deal...?"
#43 Vicker the Clefable has become COMPLIANT
You're not exactly sure what happened between Vicker and his father, but for a moment, you could see exactly where it all went wrong for him...
