    I love my job!

How do you feel about your job, if you have one? If you don't have one, are you looking?

I'm actually pretty happy with my job right now. The work itself is a bit dry (data analysis and assembling files for design history) and isn't the most exciting stuff, but the team is really a pleasure to work with and they know how to make a bleh day a little brighter. Even when things get crazy and nutty, they can still laugh and still work together to get things done. Man, I just admire that all around.

They also really liked my surprise Halloween party and we had some fun with that. I can't complain, it's been pretty good. It's very rare to find a job where you can get good work done and still have some fun with it every now and then.

I just passed the one month milestone on my current job, a temporary assignment as a policy researcher for a think tank headquartered in my state and focusing on local and state-wide issues. It is pretty interesting work, and I find myself learning about issues like shortages of dentists, fake service animals, narcotics legislation, and a bunch of other topics that would normally fly under my radar. It's a good way to get back in touch with what's going on in my old stomping grounds after being done with college and I am hoping that it will translate into something more permanent, either with the same organization, or with another group or pol doing similar work. The only downside seems to be that it is a really small office (I am one of only three full-time employees), and I am by far the youngest person there by two decades at least, and everyone else has, y'know, actually achieved things, so I can feel like I am really out of my depth. But the longest journey begins with a single step, and I think that I am off on the right path.
Dreams come a size too big. It's so that we can grow into them.

I have been at my current job since February 2016, and I am glad to be there.

The work itself is a bit meh. It is a seaweed-fertilizer factory. Every day I work there, I come home and reek of seaweed, physically exhausted from just generally tiring manual labor. However I don't hate the work. It is alright, and depending on the job I can listen to music as well.

The people I work with are great. Two of the guys I sometimes work with are close mates from my church. There is another one who I work with every day that I work (who is full time) and he is an awesome bloke, and there is a new bloke who is actually a Syrian refugee who is a really friendly bloke (I think. I don't speak arabic and his english is still getting there. Google Translate is a life saver).

My bosses are great. One of them is the Chair of the Council at my church, and his son is one of my youth kids. He is really easygoing with when I can work (in that if I ever want extra days he is always happy to give them to me, and is always cool for me to change days depending on my uni timetable. Granted one of the other guys keeps bailing, and he isn't being a pushover with him or anything), and our breaks always go a bit overtime but it isn't an issue.

The pay is decent as well. I work 2 days a week on average which puts $750 or so in my account at the end of each fortnight. And the work is all in day blocks, so I knock it all out in two or three days and I am set, never having to do shifts at night or anything.

So yeah, even though I wouldn't want to work there forever, whilst I am in uni, it is great.

My job is great for a few reasons. First off, it pays fairly decent for a part-time job. Next, it's actually related to my major, which means it's somewhat interesting. And lastly, I work with units at different temperatures, so I can catch up on school work while I wait for temperatures to change. Also, full of nice people. :D Got lucky. XD

I like my job, I guess. I work at the movie theatre and everyone is pretty chill there. The boss will occasionally let us bring free snacks home after work so that’s definitely a bonus.
