That's just the mindset people in our culture have. It seems obvious to us that yeah, nothing is worth losing a life over. That's what society leads us to believe.

But does that apply to someone who lives with intense pain every day (whether physically or emotionally)? If a pet was in a spot like this, some people would decide to do away with them so they don't feel pain. What's the difference with humans in this case?
