    Alder is nice sounding but that's the name of the champion of Unova https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Alder

    So I prefer Aspen. The others are nice too. Some sound more female so I guess it depends if the prof is a woman or man

    Should we take vote on what gender the professor is (or identifies as)?

    Hmm, Aspen is good and I'd vote on female honestly. The Professor list could go for some more feminism. There's what...1/7? So yeah! My vote would go for a female.

    The time is upon us...

    And Aspen is a unisex name too, so that is a plus there.

    Yeah, another female regional professor would be nice considering there's only been 1 throughout all the games... xD

    Here's some common and easy to say Irish girl names I feel would go with Aspen:

    Fiona
    Keely
    Neve
    Orla
    Riona

    Like any of those, anyone?

    Riona is a lofty name in Gaelic history. I could see this professor being "The Shimmering Queen" as the name suggests.

    Maybe she could focus on the ancestry of Pokemon origins; or being named after the sacred whispering tree, she could focus her studies on the theology and physiology of ghost types, and its relations to the faes (Fairy types)

    Both types are steeped in Gaelic ideology and mythologym Ireland would be perfect for ghosts and faeries.

    I have a niece called Orlaith (Pronounced Orla) At first we got so confused of the pronunciation when she was named. haha
    I prefer Riona. Riona Aspen has a nice ring to it.

    @Coru

    Riona Aspen sounds beautiful and magical--perfect for an Irish region!

    @Green

    She could also study Pokemon lore, but origins of Pokemon is a cool idea as well.
