I use to be a very impulsive buyer; when I first got hold of my savings account, I'd do things like spend over Ł100 on fancy dress costumes, and there were many, many Ł40+ rounds of drinks. Needless to say, the savings didn't last very long...

These days though, I'm much more frugal and controlled. This is helped in no small part by my partner of 6.5 years, who is incredible with her self-displicine and saving. If I, her, or we spend money, it tends to be very thought out, and quite often these days improvements for our house, which should hopefully add value, if not just make our lives a little nicer and/or easier.
