New or Used?

Do you prefer buying products new or used?

Pretty much always I'll go for new if I can, unless there is a drastically lower cost for something that's in good condition. Poor condition items are just never on my radar, they're a bit of a waste of money in my eyes. :3

Overall, it depends on the product. I prefer new clothing, electronics, and furniture, but I've gotten a fair share of all three secondhand with no problems thus far. Video games are a case where it doesn't really matter to me either way, as long as a used game is still in good condition.

Depends on what it is. I have a lot of used clothes, furniture and games, and my car is used. My laptop was even bought second hand from eBay which was a bit of a risk for a $1000+ item, but I've had it for a couple years now and it's been amazing. If I wanted it new it would have been over $2000.

So as long as something is in good condition I don't mind if it's used. I wouldn't buy anything used in bad condition though.

Usually I go new. If it's a really awesome deal on a used product, I'll check it out and ask to see what the condition of it is like. And if it's a game or something electronic, I want to see it working. But yeah, I have bought used products that still work perfectly.

CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays I tend to shy away from buying used. Usually those end up having more scratches than an ice-skating rink and trying to deal with them can be a mess.

Really it depends on what it is, the savinrgs, and what it's for if used. Typically games, movies, electronic systems in general I prefer new. We did just buy a used dryer recently. Which saved us a good thousand. Condition was good (until the wind that day blew it over in the truck and cracked the door which we had to replace).

I wouldn't buy certain things. Like a used mattress. I'd prefer new there xD. I've bought things off eBay and such too so each again there's exceptions, but I do prefer new most of the time.

Generally I'm not too picky, when it comes to tech, as long as it's got a reasonable warranty I'm ok with used or when it's something like clothes I'll go to goodwill or SA once in a while. A friend of mine actually found $10 in pair of pants that cost $5! Sadly, i have yet to find any clothing with a million dollars hidden somewhere, I may have to result in the masuda method to lower the odds...

I prefer new items where I can, but I don't mind used if it's been kept in good condition. I'm a little picky with my clothing, but I have bought used clothes before. Just cause they fit, really. xD Any electrical stuff, though, I prefer as new as possible. Or at least able to test before purchasing. I stay away from used games cause, yikes, the scratches.

While I prefer new whenever possible, my funds require I by used most of the time. Especially with books, I've got tons of used books for a penny each, as opposed to £7 for new ones.
With video games I'm more wary, as I bought several used games that turned out to be fakes, so I only go used for old GC & GBA games.
I also got a PSP used in good condition that worked fine for years, but the disk drive broke so now I can't play anything but FF Tactics on it...
