He likes to shred his toys, and I gave him a big 12 inch beanie baby monster toy I got for Christmas 3 years ago. The living room looks like a murder scene covered in fluff.

I used to have pets, but they all passed away. Lately I feel like I want get something, but I'm just not sure what exactly.

I suggest starting with like a hamster. I've had 3, and they're relatively easy to take care of. They don't live very long though, but they're really cute. If you want a longer living pet, a Russian Tortoise is a good choice too. They don't get too big and can live for almost 20 years
