Hi, my name is Friday!
I've been looking for a comfortable forum to belong to for a long time, or at least one that isn't gigantic. The last ones I belonged to were the arkeis forums and the pokemon dream league.
My favorite pokemon is Kingdra, and I love to hunt for shinies!
I hope I have a lot of fun here!

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll find it somewhat comfortable here, it's a good little community. Kingdra is pretty awesome, one of my favourites too :)

My favorite shiny I've ever found definitely has to be a shiny Minun I found in my first playthrough of Ruby when I was little. Unfortunately I didn't understand how rare they were back then so I let it go... But some recent ones I love to death are my shiny Sylveon and my shiny Kingdra.

If you want to find some shinies, I'd recommend chain fishing because it's not frustrating and random like the pokeradar (it takes a lot of patience though).

If you don't really want to do anything special or out-of-the-way though, apparently Friend Safaris have a higher rate of finding shinies, estimated to be at about 1/1000! However not a lot is known about this method, so the specifics of whether all three pokemon needing to be able to be found, or if the friend needs to be online is unknown.

Oh, that's a shame about Minun. Shiny Kingdra is awesome though! I think I'll definitely have to give consecutive fishing a shot. I only ever managed to get one shiny with the Pokeradar in Diamond (a Shinx). Thanks for the tips!
