Yeah, I didn't make any New Years Resolutions this year.

Although last year, mine was to stop swearing, and I really only slipped once and it was over something stupid, but I was alone and no one heard it. :x

My New Years Resolution last year was to draw 1000 shaymin and I'm still in shock that I completed that.

This year I have four resolutions but there's only really two of them that I'm going to push myself to complete, those being finishing chapter 1 of Lucky's Travels and making at least 10 more Shaymin OCs. The other two or just goals moreso (set up another ask blog and start one of several planned arcs on Shaymin Café).

Yeah, that was a really impressive feat! And those weren't rushed and sloppy doodles just to pump the numbers up either, most of those were in full color with shading and everything in there. So going that extra mile added to the merit.

As you said, setting goals for the year is a much better approach, especially if they're measurable and quantifiable goals with success/fail conditions.

Yeah! I think I only did like... four sketchpages? Which if I remember the numbers on those sketch pages correctly they totaled up to maybe 160 shaymins? Give or take a few. That's only about 16% of all the Shaymins I did. You're right the majority had colors and shading (or at least colors at minimum).

So if there's anything I know how to draw now it's a Shaymin, haha.

Yeah! The Shaymin OCs and Lucky's Travels chapter 1 goals are pretty easily quantifiable since I know how many of each I need to do in order to complete them. 10 Shaymins says it in the name and for LT I think it's only... 6-10 more pages? I can't fully remember, it's been too long since I looked at my notes haha.

The other two are kinda quantifiable as well, albeit not as much as the former two. The new ask blog is pretty much almost ready I need to finish some assets for it (namely character refs). Theoretically it would be ready to go after I finish about... siiix refs I wanna say, but I'd like to actually have closer to like... sixteen refs done. Or at least basic character concepts, maybe not full on refs for some of them. Then starting a planned arc on Shaymin Café isn't exactly quantifiable in the same sense as the others, but it certainly has a success/fail condition since come December of 2022, I'll be able to say if I've started one or not haha.
