Oh look, it's been a while! xD Obligatory semi-monthly post to show you guys that I still make pixel art. xD

Used the shiny Snivy to make my icon on DeviantART. I think I ought to make more, because the sparkling effect is simple, effective, and kinda fun. :D

Bayleef's GS sprites are so, so weird. They're so disproportionate; did you know that Bayleef has the same exact sprite between both Gold and Silver? Crystal made a completely new sprite that's more true to Bayleef's design.
Another interesting thing to note that I just found out--kinda related but kinda not--is that apparently when Sugimori was first asked to create the official artwork for Pokemon in Red and Green, the only references he had were the sprites. That's the only thing he worked off of, and obviously changed things up where he saw fit. This is probably one big reason why Green sprites are infamous for being inaccurate...still, though, it makes you wonder what they were thinking with Red. Were red's sprites created after Sugimori drew up the official art? :o I mean Red and Green's sprites are so strikingly different in design.
But yeah, I'm getting a little off-subject.Originally Posted by Dogasu's Backpack
On Relic Castle I've been trying to catch back up with the High Resolution Sprite Project, and I'm starting by quality-controlling all of the sprites that I critiqued months ago but were never fixed by the creators. I've only got Bulbasaur and Ivysaur done, but so far they're such big edits that I may as well consider them as originals.

The Espeon was actually made quite some time ago.
