Pokemon has announced the date and location for the 2016 Pokemon World Championships. The location was announced during Worlds 2015 but now we have a date! Pokemon trainers who take part in the TCG and VGC competition can now set their calendars to be in San Francisco during August 19–21, 2016.
The 2016 Worlds Championships will be held in the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel. The event will be invite only for competitors who receive invitations. In the previous years, invitations were given to players in the TCG and VGC who have earned a certain number of Championship Points. The amount of Championship Points needed for the 2016 Worlds has not been revealed but Pokemon claim that more details about Worlds 2016 will be announced as we get closer to Worlds.
