How good is your memory?
How good is your memory?
I used to remember all kinds of things when I was younger. These days, though, I forget a lot more things, especially things that I'm supposed to do. I am also bad at matching names to people.
Sometimes, I keep thinking I have Alzheimers or something.
i forget names. i never remember names. but i tend to remember pretty much anything else.

Well I'm probably the lowest posting active member. All a part of my brilliant strategy to make the few things i post seem good!
My friends compliment me on my memory frequently. Whenever we're in class and we have buddy assignments, I'm usually the one to know the answers without having to ponder the question. I can usually read something once and explain it to you months later. I usually need some sort of stimulus, though. I usually explain concepts to myself to remember them, but I'm better when I'm given options to pick from or a scenario to apply it to. I think my memory is so good because I hold grudges, and remembering everyone's wrong-doings toward me requires a great memory.![]()
I usually hold grudges until the person apologizes. I think the longest grudge I've ever held was six years. I remember the exact date, where, when, and what I was wearing when that person said something very rude to me. December 3rd, 2010 at our middle school dance called "A Night Under the Stars" (the dance started at 7:00 pm). I was wearing my dad's grey vest and grey pants that he wore on his wedding day. I also remember exactly what the person said, but that's not really important. He apologized two years later when I brought it up.

I have a pretty good memory about things that happened ages ago, schoolwork, things I read about etc. but I'm bad at remembering short term things if that makes sense. Like getting the washing out of the machine when it's done, taking stuff out of the autoclave at work, pressing the cancel button on the toaster so my toast doesn't burn (this happens every day....) etc. I just get distracted from little things really easily. D:
Considering how many things need my attention on a day to day basis, I think I do pretty well! I do forget a few things here and there, but that's normal. I think if you remember at least 90% of the things you needed to get done in a day, that's still pretty good.
Recalling trivial facts or information that I probably won't need almost anywhere? No problem!
Remembering the name (and often face) of someone I met an hour ago? Give me a month or two (if you stick out, maybe less)—I can't guarantee anything, though.
Starting up a video game or rereading/rewatching something I haven't been into for years? Most, if not all details remembered!
Recollecting information taught not even a month ago for exam questions? Brain freeze.
Gotta love the brain.
I have an exceptionally good memory for trivia, random facts, and stuff that's pretty much useless in every day life. Plus I'm great at recalling faces. But names, schoolwork, and anything else probably useful tends to not stick.
I always used to have a great memory. But on the weekend, I realised I'd forgotten my card's pin code when trying to pay for a meal. A number I've used countless times in the last sixth months. A number which, after only ten days of not using it, my mind decided to jettison.
Uuuum, terrible. xD Well my short term memory is, unless I deem something important (which is not a lot of stuff!). I forget names almost the instant I hear them, but I remember faces like the back of my hand. I also have a habit of walking into my room with the intention of doing something...and then forget about it two seconds later. .-.
My long term memory is a bit better, but also not awesome. I'm a visual person, so for me to remember something I really have to look at it and study it over and over again. That's why I'm so great with faces and so horrid with names. :p
