Pokémon GO Beta Testing Soon

On the morning of March 3rd it was announced that the Pokémon GO presentation to take place at the Games Developer Conference was canceled. The reason for the cancellation was explained later in the day when the game’s developer, Niantic, released intentions of a beta test and launch.

“We have decided to forego our GDC talk on Pokémon GO in order to focus on getting the product ready for beta test and launch,” says Niantic CEO John Hanke. “As much as we hate to disappoint those in the industry attending GDC, we feel our time and energy right now are best spent on making sure every aspect of the product is where we want it to be.”

What is now being called a “field test” will begin in Japan during the later part of March. The registration website is up and only accepts Google Accounts. The test will later spread to other countries.

It sucks that they cancel. I was ready for some information. Hopefully what Neo said will happen.

Too bad, but I guess it's true at least. The more time spent focusing on the development the quicker we will see a beta or even the final product. Hopefully it'll move a beta outside Japan just as quick.

I still just really want to see what the game 'really' looks like
