I used to be really great at spelling in school and could often spell words that I had never heard said before because I read a lot. xD But it has fallen off a bit since I've stopped writing by hand, I think. It's much easier to feel if a word is wrong for me if I write it, rather than typing it. Plus autocorrect these days... I'd be surprised if the next generation can spell at all. xD

That's really interesting! I don't have any such preference for writing or typing, but typing is cheating because of autocorrect. XD Except when I spell something so wrongly that it doesn't even come up with suggestions. xD That's a little embarrassing. Yep, the next generation not being able to spell wouldn't surprise me. Then again, autocorrect helps me sometimes rather than hinders me... To me, learning the correct spelling is up to your willingness to apply yourself to remembering it. Whether it's a teacher who corrects me or autocorrect, it's still up to me how much effort I invest into learning it! x)

I think spelling is fine for me, in general. The only things that sometimes catch me off-guard are those double alphabets, like ll or ss, especially in longer words.
